Today I went out to the love shack ( my shed ) and did a round #2 of trying to neutralize any rouge pollen. I sprayed down the tent for the second time and sprayed down the whole inside of the shed. Then aired it out.
After drying I took down the tent for storage. When summer gets here I'll put it up on my patio and hose it out with a garden hose.
I'm probably over thinking it. But I don't want rouge pollen messing up future projects in that tent or shack.
Towards end of this summer I have more breeding projects planned. Shit needs to be clean :D

Any thoughts on keeping unwanted pollen at bay?

Does anyone else do open pollination ?

Or just paint on little bit one branch at a time?

I've done the brush technique thus far. I keep the boys in a separate flower tent and harvest from them as they're ready.
The times I've cleaned it out before I did a thorough cleaning of everything interior a couple different times of soaking wet cleaning and shop vacuuming. Air dry in between washings.
Wiped all of it down extensively.
All the electric stuff I took out and blew out outdoors with the compressor and damp clothe wiped everything I was able to.
I'll be doing that again here soon as I'll be clearing out the boys for an open pollination with my God Bud male. He'll hit the Altar Bread, and prob a bunch more TBD. Lol.
And another cleaning and open pollination after that with a diff strain.

Thanks for the response :) I'm probably going to be ok with that tent then for future projects. I'm probably not gonna be doing open pollination again with big males. I'll just collect it and use a small paint brush.
It was both impressive and disturbing seeing the size of the pollen clouds floating in the tents open air over the 5 girls :ROFLMAO:. Then I used a little paint brush on 2 others

Thanks for stopping by people's

I apply pollen with paint brushes and clean up a pollination run similar to @JL2G . I mist everything heavily. (excluding the bulbs.) I'll mist the plants until they're dripping. Then I'll take the plants out and move them aside. I'll wipe everything down and shop vac the interior. The plants that were put aside get one last heavy spray down before being moved into the flower tent.

Thanks! I did mist them really good before moving them into my main flower tent.
When you do a single branch how many seeds do you anticipate harvesting from it?

When you do a single branch

I don't single branch pollinate very often. Once I have my selection, I'll take clones. Once the clones are rooted and established I'll flower them while they're still small. Typically these plants are roughly 18" after stretch. I'll move them to get pollinated and apply the pollen with paint brushes. This usually occurs mid-late week 3. I'll let them sit for three days after being pollinated and on day three they get sprayed down and moved back into the flower tent. I'll usually run my pollinated plants 70+ days.

how many seeds do you anticipate harvesting from it?

I'd say about 100 seeds from a single branch pollination +/-.

Thanks for all the solid information! I'm totally good with that amount of seeds. Gives me enough for stash and pheno hunts.
I've tossed so many males in my 6 years of growing. It's a shame I didn't utilize some of them

I'm pretty stoned so hopefully this post will make sense :stoned: . Awhile back I grew a 501st OG from Rare Dankness. Here it is on the first time it was flowered out

After I decided to try to reveg it.
Here's it starting to reveg

IMG_20200129_155320234.jpg

Here it is today just after I manually pollinated it

In the second picture you can see some of the original growth from the first time it was flowered out.

This is the original root ball and stalk, what's left of the stalk after it was chopped after the first time it was flowered.

I dusted most of the plant.
After 6 years of growing I'm still amazed at all weed plants are capable of.
Thanks for stopping by

I forgot to mention the first time it flowered for 11 weeks.
It's just over 3 week's in bloom now. Hopefully it will kick out some good seeds :) It's the first time I have reveged a plant. So I thought I'd sacrifice it for seeds
11 week flower, youre sure to have fully mature seeds before that time is up.

@HydroRed have you ever seeded out a plant on its second round in bloom?
It's in it's original pot with original soil. Looks healthy. Do you think I should worry about it needing to be up potted
Cant say I've ever seeded a plant that was revegged & flowered again, but dont see why it wouldnt be just as good as a 1 time flowered plant. I guess it could be compared to revegging, then taking clones and flowering those? The same in principle.
I wouldnt sweat a repot.
