To those of us that have experienced this, you know what I’m talking about. To those that haven’t, be ready for a life changing experience.

I love synchronicities in life. Whether it’s looking up at the clock and seeing 11:11 or someone talking about something that perfectly lined up with what happened in your life that you can relate to in more than just a “normal way.” This music/movie synch from two absolute legends is engrained in my life and has influenced it in so many ways. I had the rare privilege of seeing the synch before I ever saw the original movie. I used to do this using VHS and CDs. Some synch timings are better than others (trust me I’ve tried several) but the general consensus is to start the music at the MGM lion’s third roar. Even fractions of a second can make a huge difference in synch quality. IDK how many times it was watched to “bring it home” after some great trips both physically and psychedelically. With the wonders of modern technology it’s now available on YouTube. I have a DVD version from the mid 2000s if anyone’s interested that I can burn and send out. Once I get a turntable I’m gonna go oldskool and use my vinyl record to get that warm sound that only vinyl can bring. Take the time to watch it. It’s worth it.

Start at about 1:00 so you can skip the non-relevant intro.

How many synchs do you see (and feel)? There are literally hundreds. For starters, Floyd’s “The Great Gig in the Sky” and the scene where the storm happens in the beginning leading to Floyd’s “Money” with the shift from black and white to color in Munchkin Land are beyond words. That’s just barely scratching the surface. I would love to hear your comments, good or bad. Enjoy my pHamily.

I’d like to note. I sometimes see bumper stickers w a paw print and the caption “Who Saved Who?” How many times did Toto save their asses? What an AWESOME dog. You can clearly tell how well he was trained and how much he loved Dorothy. Much like all of our furry friends that we call family. He is my favorite character along w Dorothy. That’s saying quite a bit given I didn’t even see/hear the original movie before the synch. There’s a great message to be had there.

Thank you Frim. You as well. Your boy is an absolute stunner. Yes amazingly smart. Both intellectually and emotionally. I did one of those DNA tests. He’s almost half cattle dog. By far the best dog I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. I did the test cuz I had to know if I could up my chances of ever finding another pheno like him. It will be impossible but perhaps I may be able to find another one that I would love just as much.

Beautiful dog! Looks like a very young 17! We went through a patch of losing one senior dog a year for 4 years in a row. I was gutted when the last one went - cried like a little girl. I told myself I'd go at least a year "dog-free," see how I liked life, maybe travel without having to worry about all the things dog owners have to worry about. In less than 3 months, I broke down and got these 2 mutts. I was amazed how quickly I gave my heart to the new ones, but I don't want to live in a world w/o dogs.

Awesome! Beautiful. They look so friendly. Thanks for the compliment, yes he looks and acts very young. I’m glad you brought this up. Somewhat recently I had about convinced myself that I wouldn’t get any more dogs. So super painful when they pass. And the fact that I have a lotta things I gotta handle, especially now as life has changed up on me. Although my boy is almost maintenance-less, he still requires attention. With all that I’ve got going on can I handle it and give the dog a great life? I’m not too sure. I think to myself that I may check out for a month once my boy passes and never get another one again. Talked to friends and family and I get mixed feelings about it.

I've sat right where you're sitting. There are a lot of things to consider. I'm now retired, so my obligations have dwindled down to almost nothing. I'm not so sure I could handle these dogs' needs if I were younger and still "on the wheel," so to speak. They are a large breed, bonded pair who came to us buck wild. Young dogs require so much attention and training, too, so age is another consideration - just the normal puppy age destruction can be a nightmare. Our house just got too quiet for us with no kids or crazy canines about, but we have an acre and a half fenced, and the time to devote near constant attention to them. And still, there are days where I wonder if I've bitten off more than I can chew.

The plus side is that your boy is happy and healthy and looks to remain so for a good while. He really is a good looking dude. You two will have, hopefully, many, many happy days together. Just the fact that you're thinking about it all already would lead me to believe you'll make the right choice for you and yours when the time, wrenching as it is, comes. :weedleaf: ✌️ :weedleaf:

Ok so I haven't watched much of this one, but you guys may appreciate this:

The Shining, but you play two copies; one copy plays out normal and the other one, played in reverse, you play that over top of the footage. I've seen people do this, and it's REALLY neat! The part where you see the beginning play out and get to Jack chasing Danny through the Maze is epic! I don't remember exactly, but I think it was a Documentary talking about the Shining where I first heard about this one.

I’m not retired and I probably never will be. I’m not so young any more and I can definitely feel it especially after the recent events that I’ve been through. But I’m determined to make more than the best of it all. This is great insight, thank you. I feel you on biting off more than you can chew cuz I had several big dogs at once and oh man if it wasn’t the dog food expense it was the poop pickup not to mention the two boys didn’t get along so I sustained a couple of major injuries separating them both. If I were to get another dog it would be the same size as my current, I think he’s the perfect size for me. Yes, I hope to have many more days w my awesome dog. I have been thinking about it cuz 17 is a lot in dog years and they go fast; one day they look great and the next day *PAH* WTF happened. I’ve been there several times and I’m not sure I wanna go through that again. Which is why I’m conflicted. Smth to ponder on. For now I will continue to give him the best life I can, and enjoy all the time we have together.
