We do a whole bunch of canning and preserving around our place.
Today we're in the middle of a couple gallons of our secret recipe spicy BBQ sauce.

It’s a great thing to do for sure and you’re speaking to my soul with that bbq sauce @Skunky Dunk Farms . I saw the other day briskets we’re back down north o a more reasonable price so I may score a couple and fire up the pit. Too bad pork ribs have blown through the roof though. Planning a banging veggie garden this year. Hope it goes well so I can fire up the pressure cooker and such to do some canning and preserving here too. Have a great day sir.

I did notice the drop in brisket price too.
Think we'll pick one up ourselves.

Not yet but we keep threatening to start. We grow a truckload of tomatoes, pumpkins, cucumbers, etc every year and really need to start canning everything as well as our marinara sauce.

I haven't canned anything since I was young, helping out my grandmas. I'm gonna start this year. I want to can tomatoes, beans, corn. I also want to pickle some peppers and cucumbers.
We will see. Have to grow it first.

This will last us all season and then some.
We got our 100 gallon propane tank filled last fall before it doubled/tripled!??!
So at least we can enjoy the grill while the world burns.

Does anyone reuse your flats?
We try to get a,couple uses out of em unless they're tweak or not flat.

I never reuse them for canning, one and done, but I always end up using the old ones for other things anyway. I just worry they won't seal & don't want them popping up while in storage. That's great if you're getting multiple runs ?

Pizza/sphegetti sauce for the year, thick as paste almost. On a deep dish sourdough crust it's bomb! Spicy and a bit hot.

A couple of em will rip your head off!
We had these hybrid jalapeños this year that have a citrus tang , turn bright red and are blazin'! And a touch of cayenne.

We're gettin ready to make some plum jam and jelly now.
Scored big on fruit today, about 5 cases of pints this round from approximately 65lbs.of plums

Working on a plethora of little stuff right now; peach butter, peach jelly, tomato jam, and white grape jelly down today.

We got 16 pints of plum jam done.
Plum is my favorite jelly, it has a very distinct flavor that's a bit tart.
We don't go overboard on sugar and try to use near sugar free recipes.

We're canning quarts of beef roast.
