How many gallons you think you'll need to feed in a 24 hr period? 55 gal blue ABS rain barrels seem to work well with a venturi or a bubbler in the bottom if you are covering a lot of area. You can usually find em used for about $30-$50 or about $110 new.
If you need less than the 55 gal barrel, you can get the HD 27 gal totes w/lid for about $15 each at the big box hardware stores. I used them as a res for years (and still have them). They are bulletproof for this use and very economical.

Appreciate it. I was almost considering having two separate res's for each side of the room but that just sounds like a headache waiting to happen.

Hey, why not ?
With a couple of taps/valves you could fill them individually, with a common supply line.

Most of the time when you are looking at totes the lid will be made of an identical material. When you are at the store fold the lid in half, if it bends - it can be drilled.
If it snaps - don't buy it.
When I was playing on a larger scale, I basically did the same with the 27 gal totes by installing a bulkhead with a 1" ball valve. Easy to drain/use -specially if it is elevated and hydrostatic pressure can take over. Eliminates the need for any kind of pumps.
