Ed Rooney: Back to School

As soon as they got big enough for a decent sniff I realised they were my Double Black and not Sensi Star, they're both my favourites but I miss the Sensi. I need to pop some of the Sensi x Pua beans for a look for her.

Here is some more of the Double Black S1s at the front with Sour D x Christmas Tree and some Oil Spill.

Using used soil from last run with some extra amendments, I break apart the root mass and leave it all in except the main ball add in my vermicompost, goodies and mycos until I'm ready to use it again.

Start of flower week 2. So far 2 males of the Oil Spill and 1 of the XmasD, could be some late dudes to the party still.

Man, I need some of that Sensi Star. Old favorite from both hip replacement surgeries. The Pua is stunning!
Thanks mate, I'm going to have to hunt for her in the Pua cross. I'll get some beans dropped soon.

I was trying to source old stock, something from James Bean or Bob Hemphill, but they go so fast. Might just have to order from Positronic and see if they are still the same.

Domina S1's doing well, although i want to move up to a 30L(8gal) over the 25L(6.5gal) grow bags soon.

The Christmas tree x D (smaller ones) and Oil Spill doing ok. Man are they heavy feeders, I thought my soil mix was rich enough but no!

4 of the Schism up, didn't get a good germ at all so going to pop the other pack now as well. 20230306_145009.jpg

They look a treat! I love me some oilspill. Does yours have any lavender/musty grape to it? Also do you know what filial gen yours are?

They're still in the drying tent, went and had a sniff. The purple one is oily, musty, peppery not getting any grape, which would be nice.

The other non purple still has too much 'greenness' to it. I love that smell, it reminds me of when I was cropping outdoor and takes me back.

Picked them up last year. Here are the boxes they came in.

The hunt is on!

This is the smorgasbord cross to the Sensi Star.

Deep Chunk
Pua
NL5 (NL1 x super skunk)
Pterodactyl (Airborne G-13 x (NL2 x NL5)
Mirka (afgooey x Headband)

Looking for the Pterodactyl dominant girls, should be easy to find they'll look Jurassic.

The ones with deficiencies are sure to be the Mirka cross, they showed up like that last time. I ain't got no time for needy women!

Went through and had a stem rub sniff of all the girls today, there is a lot of diversity there!

A couple of nice acrid ones too.

It's going to do my head in trying to select from this lot I'm thinking as I have plenty of seed it will be easier to run a smaller batch after this one so I know what I'm looking for....maybe! I'll try and label what is here with what I think it is and then the smoke test will help confirm but it's still a crap shoot.

I was thinking of trying to look for all the Pterodactyl leaners I can and do another pollination with the male I found. Can't wait to try these ones

Also thinking to just do another run and open pollinate to really mix up the genepool and see what floats to the top. I'd expect the Sensi Star, Deep Chunk, G13 to be all pretty dominant. There is quite a lot of NL1 & NL5 in there too.

Some nice dark leaves on some.

The one with the long legs. The Mirka had really good structure but then again the G13 does too.
