Alright, I've been through enough threads now I know there's a bunch of smart fucks around this corner of the interwebs. How many engineers do we have in our midst? It doesn't matter if you're in software, electrical, architectural, mechanical, structural, chemical, etc. Whatchu about?!

Perhaps we can coordinate on some projects. Take on those fuckers we pay hundreds of dollars for equipment with some open source shit.

I'll start. I'm a full stack engineer. I run six servers for personal use, and am responsible for ~100 servers professionally. In addition I work with multiple stacks. I'd be down to host the git repos for the software as I run a private gitlab instance. Let's do work!

I'm a general contractor myself.
Anything residential, and some commercial.
Strong structural, and electrical background among other areas. No engineers degree or anything, never went to college, everything I've learned has been in the field.
Build ya just about anything you want. Lol.

Appreciate you stopping by!

I went to college for fine arts and psychology, dropped out to do construction. Worked in the oil patch for a while too. Shit tears up your body though. Gotta say though, putting up a house foundation to finish work is as hard mentally as what I do sitting on my ass for 10+ hours a day now, though. Miss using my hands in that way for sure. Hell, I've even been thinkin about trying to pivot back into it. I've gotten fat behind a screen haha

I hear ya on the body shit. Last few years I've been trying to wear the tool belt less and less and to just let my guys do things.
It's hard to put the tool belt down though. Lol.

Was an EE student for 3 years (Digital/Analog systems), but was offered a significant position while in college which i jumped on. I started coding pre-dos days, DCL, basic, pascal, fortran, fourth. That moved into Netware CNE, Cisco CCNP, C++, Java, .NET,Perl, Python, PHP.

I ran multiple gaming boards and portals for many years..I don't get to do much in this area as much as I used to anymore.

Currently I lead a team of (Enterprise Architecture Resources,DevOps, SRE event based automation) configuration, and instrumentation engineers (OpsBridge, AppDynamics,Splunk) who are currently having a field day with kubernetes/docker, and our Release Managment/Development Framework, which is a mock of the scaled agile framework. We manage the configuration (Chef/Jenkins/Gitlab in one SLDC, and Atlasian Suite (Jira,Bamboo,Bitbucket, Confluence in the other) of large distributed systems and their value streams (our total footprint is close to 3k servers), using distributed tracing techniques on transactions. If it moves..we measure it....your app dies I can tell you at what part of the codepath you "F'd" yourself. Test early...test often..

Similar to Spry ~ I dabble alot ~
