F@&$ Crypto

Is there anything more complicated or riddled with scammers than the cryptocurrency market right now?

1) Mining? Why bother at this point? Even with BitCoin's insane value right now, unless you are rocking ASIC setups, you're spending more on electricity than it's worth and graphics cards are insanely expensive now.

2) How about just buying some coin, sitting it in a wallet, and letting it do it's thing, all passive? Nope. You think my credit card company will let me use it for this....nope! Vanilla Visa? Doesnt work for me. Oh right, let me hook up my banking info. It's not like these exchanges are being hacked all the time or anything.....oh....wait.
Coinbase. Can't use it. Not my credit card. Not a prepaid either. ONLY debit card hookup. Because that's even better.....having ZERO fraud protection a credit card may provide....nope straight into my fucking account. Yeah fucking right!!!!!!

3) what about BitCoin Trader and these other services? Right, because when I clicked on it, I was forwarded to InvestingState.com. An offshore company with no oversight and shit reviews. I get 4 phone calls from them, all from the same guy......all different phone numbers. Can anyone say Red Flag? Jesus so many red flags I may as well be at a military parade in Moscow, circa 1967.
So I tried it again, this time it forwards me to Crystal Leads. Another scammy seeming company. The dude calls me, NZ sounding accent, music absolutely blaring in the background, seeming unprofessional. Ugh.
So I made sure not to share too much with these people, but I now feel the need to sign up to some sort of identity protection service.

4) How about using Pionex and letting their bots do the work? Oh right. Because it's so easy to add money to Pionex....wait I can't.....I need to already have cryptocurrency to send to it. Oops.....see point 2.

Every single time I try and get into crytpo, I end up pissed off and giving up for several months, only to come back and find out had I figured it out, I'd have a cool extra 50K or 1000K in my fucking bank.

Thing is, I am REALLLLY good with computers. Really good. And this shit makes me uneasy as fuck.

Can anyone suggest best place for Canadians to get into crypto or am I just wasting my time? So far it's been 3 days of pissing around and I've gotten nowhere. I'd love to get this thing started, but so close to giving up on it permanently.

Man do I feel your pain. A few of my buddies got in on that Reddit crypto shit and man did they cash the fuck out. My one friend bought a damn house. A fucking house with what he made.... I tried to do it too and ended up just buying crypto to use at a seed bank. I went through PayPal but I do t think that would be an option if you are trying to buy and sell crypto. I hope you figure it out and if you do share the knowledge. I’d love to cash in on something small to cash out with a house. Lol

I was going to buy BitCoin back when it was about $2.50 a coin. I had about $2000 just laying around I was thinking of investing into it. I decided against buying something I couldn't taste, touch, feel or smell and that holds no fiat value, and you can't spend on anything (at that time).....who would have known.

Long story short I'd have well over $40M in BitCoin right now.

A couple years ago I was nearly gonna buy Ethereum coin as well. I'd be up about $2M right now had I jumped on it then with the money I was going to put into it.

Monero, same thing.

I also should have been mining Ethereum and LiteCoin and a couple others last year...fuck.

I tell you what though. Wanna know who makes all the money? The guys who can write and setup a killer crypto exchange site. Damn, the transaction fees alone.

Ugh. So mad at myself for not getting into it back then.

when everyone is making money someone at the end of it will get burned. crypto is going to be used to central bankers and put under their control and you will find bitcoin, ethereum and all the others will be worthless as mum and dad investors will go the safe route. basically what im getting at is they are trying to eliminate cash so that you can be controlled by central banks/ governments and their nefarious agencies and if you are a dissenter you will be switched off. sort of like sandra bullock in that film the net.
want to go see someone and travel outside your allowed radius, no money for you. call me crazy but stick to cash and pay cash for everything. put a spanner in the works. over here they are taxing you for purchases on bitcoin if you make a profit like the stock exchange. dont go running to the next big thing when it could be chains and a barcode you are charging head first into. yeah i maybe crazy but i grew up with critical thinking and learning that your government lies to you repeatedly cant be trusted and will enact all new types of laws to get you to bend the knee.
bit of x files trust no one.

I think it's gonna keep going for a while, and more and more people are wanting actual private coins, so Monero and ZCash and others may be a good buy. But yeah, I won't be investing everything into it, that's for sure. If I can make some extra income trading with a small amount of coins, cool.

I definitely hear ya and don't doubt about them wanting control, and the whole digital deletion of someone if they wanted to though. Wrong politics.....no money, no job and no food for you. I see it. But nothing wrong making money while ya can. I just won't bother with mining equipment or leveraging everything I have against it.

A friend who does investing for me got me in on bit coin early on in 2018...sold it all early in December of 2018 for 4 times what I had into it...by January...it was all the way back down...I will never invest in it again.
I have actually pulled all my money out of the stock market in any risk ventures and just keep the ol safe ones.
I made a lot of money in the stock market in the past few years...but now is a shit time for it and I just won't fuck with it again until things change.

So I managed to get it figured out with the Pionex crypto exchange. I finally got BitCoin in my wallet address there, but holy shit. I think I'm just gonna be a passive investor. Their AI bots just started losing me money immediately. Then I go to cancel the trading bot I have running, and it locks me out of my remaining balance.

Basically, I had to buy BitCoin on Coinbase, then pay transaction and network fees to send it to Pionex because they don't have a fiat money top-up system. Then I have to sell the BitCoin and trade it for USDT tokens and then reach a specific minimum USDT balance to run the various bots.

Why wouldn't Pionex use a gift card system or something instead of forcing their users to buy BitCoin on a rival exchange and pay them money to send it to Pionex? If they did that, you could top up a validated account with gift cards purchased from ANYWHERE and all the money minus what they pay the retailer, would be in Pionex's pocket instead of Coinbase. Goofy.
It probably has to do with money laundering prevention, but if I use my Visa and buy $1000 in BitCoin, and then I use $1000 in black market money, my bank isn't going to bat an eye at that low of a cash deposit top up. It really prevents nothing, while making investing more difficult. Stupid.

Definitely a pain in the ass. I managed to sort out my balance on Pionex and my BitCoin balance is all there after shuffling things around, but what a nightmare.

Yeah it's sketchy. I don't bother with stocks either. I'll probably be working till the day I die but whatever. Unless I can get in on the next great crypto early on, I'm just gonna be cautious with it.

Just suck it up and use a debit card imo. Set up a debit card on a checking account specifically for crypto.. don't leave money sitting in the account if you're worried about it being breached.

I'm new to crypto and already predicted a couple coins blow ups and that wasn't from hours of reading.. Just natural feel from looking at their charts and just the price they were at when I made predictions. And these blows ups happened over the course of a few months.. not even a year lol.

DO NOT EVER CONTACT BITCOIN TRADER, DONT CLICK ON ITS LINK. NEVER.

You will be harassed endlessly. I have received a dozen calls from these scammers in the last 24 hrs.

The ad sells it as a proprietary software that you can access, thru various affiliates. So you'd sign up with one of their partners, make your investment, and they keep 1% of profits. Nothing if they lose money. Seemed like an alright deal.

For 24/7 trading, and having a program do it all for you seemed like a good idea, and with barely any fees. The idea being that it's hands free, just check in every day or so.

Well, what it appears to be in reality is a collective of hackers and scammers and offshore "advisors" that have somehow placed ads and reviews and probably paid off journalists/editors to get into magazines.

Totally bunk. The last dummy that called me last night told me he was from X company. Then the same number calls again today, but claims to be from a different investment company. Yeah OK, fuckheads.

I finally made a physical threat against them after the 5th call this morning, and then suddenly the calls stopped. Imagine that.
I hope the cops show up to ask me about it too....they're gonna get an earful as well.

Yeah, I've given up on crypto as an investment. Feel like I missed that boat. Like you I had so many opportunities too. When I first heard about bitcoin me and a buddy were gonna get set up for mining.... but then I made a baby and got kind of sidetracked.

Then I bought some bitcoin in like 2014 or 15....but I spent it all on seeds. Also it was such a hassle I never bought more.

Recently I started using CashApp for bitcoin which is super simple. But again, I'm mostly just using it to buy seeds...

Maybe someday my seeds will be worth as much as bitcoin!

A man can dream...

That would be awesome lol!

Yeah I think BitCoin is pretty much done for quick and massive wealth accumulation. But it can still pull a decent return. Unless it drops significantly, then I'll go hard on it.

And some of the lesser coins are good buys that might add to one's monthly income, or even get a good hit maybe.

I'm probably going to look more into the ones that provide secure, anonymous transactions (Monero, ZCash etc). BitCoin is nowhere near private and many people are looking at more private options. And not necessarily for black market means. They're simply tired of being tracked with every single thing they buy online.

Thanks for the Ca$hApp suggestion I will check it out. My only option I've figured out so far is what I wrote above with CoinBase. And at 3%+ for debit fees thru Coinbase, every purchase, plus all the shifting around and other fees, it is getting old already.
