It’s Neil Gaiman’s Endless (Dream, Death, Desire, etc) yeah it hurt but it’s all in how bad you want something. That was 2 sittings 7 hours one and 5 hours the other. The color one on my back took 15 hours and we did it all in one day. Mike Ivey from Richmond did those two. The B/W on my back was done by Timothy Hoyer in Amsterdam at a convention. In 94 I worked as a bar tender/bouncer at a local strip club. His wife is from Va and I got the strippers to his bachelor party. He owned a shop in Richmond Absolute art and told me to come in for a tattoo on the house. He couldn’t fit me in because he was going to a convention in the Netherlands. I proposed a Boris Piece called lord of the wolves as what I wanted. Timothy was known world wide as a NY tattoo artist that only did Japanese inspired works with A LOT of color. What I proposed intrigued him and the next thing you know I’m getting tattooed in Amsterdam. Is that b/w one on your shin? Must’ve hurt like a mutha. Looks sick
I can understand that. Mine is Sharks and Snakes. Things that terrify me. Sharks is because my parents took me to see Jaws in 1975 at 5 years old in the theatre. Years of nightmares after that.....I’m a pussy when it comes to needles (childhood trauma/phobia) but love how tattoos look.
I mentioned earlier I turn wood. I also make pipes. Here’s a video of a small one hitter I made out of olive wood.
Thank you, that’s my mini lathe I use for pipe making. I also make traditional pipes with Makis (Briar Burl). I have a 16x42 lathe as well for larger stuff like vases, bowls, etc. I also turn resin (epoxy) and I do 3D printing as well. Here’s the head of a Hellboy bust I made being printed. If post the whole thing but I don’t want to upload a large file.Nice. Lathe work of any kind is pretty awesome.
You might find this one interesting. It’s a wooden Cigar Bat I designed with a metal smoking chamber.Nice. Lathe work of any kind is pretty awesome.
In my other house I had a woodshop and a 10x10 w/ 1000 wt MH/HPS. We moved and I’m STILL setting up my wood shop. I have a new 14 inch bandsaw I’ve YET to put together.Nice. Lathe work of any kind is pretty awesome.
