I also loved Tom Savini's remake of Romero's Night of the Living Dead. Now that movie scared the ever living shit outta me as a kid. The original was good too, I just don't like black & white films so I prefer the remake better.

My parents especially my mom (R.I.P) loved zombie and horror films so I watched them from a very young age. I grew up next to a cemetery so I was always scared zombies would rise up out of the graves lmao.. I'll tell you what else scared me the theme music from "Unsolved Mysteries" hahaha

My favorites movies are the George Romero classics Dawn of the Dead (1978) and Day of the Dead. All together I've seen both those movies a couple hundred times each and could probably watch them a hundred times more and still not be sick of them.

Btw rest in paradise George A. Romero, you made my childhood great <3

Two of my ALL time favorite movies right there :) Dawn of the Dead is higher on my list than Day of the Dead, but I love both.

You know Dario Argento brought George to Italy and put him in an apartment, and had him write the script for Dawn of the Dead ? Then, he took all the humor out and released it as "Zombi" in Italy :)

Also, in the opening part of that movie, when they show everyone in the News Room, that's George and his Wife sitting next to each other in the opening part :) The Zombie that falls in the Mall into the water is George's Father in Law.

Wild Zero! Because we HAD to know what it would be like, if a Japanese band like The Ramones, were the heroes of a Zombie movie LOL :)

Never get out of the boat.

Loaded with continuity problems and I suppose more, it still bumps. Coppola gave his wife an 8mm camera while they were filming and she shot a lot of film behind the scenes, they made a documentary from it called 8mm Apocalypse. Quincy Jones did an interview years ago that he later walked back, in which he said that he and Brando were part of a group of friends that would often go out drinking and dancing all night, and that Brando would fuck anything, even a mailbox. A MAILBOX !! and then he laughed really hard like he was drinking, but later he tried to unsay it. :D

Apparently that's bad or incomplete info, I've also read that in the 90's someone made a doc from the same films and called it Heart of Darkness: A Film-makers Apocalypse. I'm not sure both could be right, I thought the Coppola's made one called 8mm Apocalypse. 🤷‍♂️

Of course I do! I know almost every single thing/fact from that movie. I've also read the book, yes there's a book out there! There's also a comic book.. I used to like Dawn better than Day, but over the years Day sort of grew on me and I like it better now (I've heard a lot of people say the same thing). In your whole list of movies there you forgot "Return of the Living Dead" also the sequel/part 2, the rest of the sequels aren't even worth a mention.

Check this out! I'm glad I got the ultimate 4 disc edition on DVD decades ago although it's collecting dust somewhere in my closet.

I don't know how I didn't think of the True Grit reboot. It has a great cast, imo one of those rare cases of reboot is better than the original. Well worth the time watching.
I went to the theaters to see the remake with my old man. I thought it was good but he preferred the original, which I can understand because he grew up watching John Wayne movies and all those spaghetti westerns.

"Unforgiven" is terrific. Two of the leads were in this one that I watched 2 nights ago.

which was very good until the contrived and convenient ending. I made a comment to a friend, asking ' has Gene Hackman ever made a bad movie?'

Turns out it took me one day to discover the answer - a big yes.

You know what else sucks? I've always wanted to meet the actor Joe Pilato who played Captain Rhodes on Day of the Dead.. He was from East Boston and I still think he lived there before he sadly passed away.. I'm sure we might of even passed each other on the street once or twice by coincidence with me not recognizing who he was. He was originally supposed to play George Clooney's character in From Dusk till Dawn but got screwed out of the role.

Yeah I should have added the Return series; I love those too. I've watched every one of them so many times... LOL.

I had a book about Night of the Living Dead years ago, which included behind the scenes info, little factoids, and even the original script!

I had 11 copies of it that were all slightly different (There's so many cuts of that... like the one where a Priest is bitten and doesn't turn, or the ones where you can hear the phone when Barb picks up the line and hears a noise) so yeah, mildly obsessed LOL.

You ever seen the Italian release of Dawn of the Dead ?
