Anybody use chip drop before?
I'm thinking of covering my garden in woodchips? I'm so done with this grass.
By the time I get it turned over and dried the grass is back. I still haven't put anything in the ground. Should have some help to finish this fence soon.

I put fresh trimmed grass directly on my garden beds as a green mulch. I would prefer wood chips though. I’ve never heard of chip drop before but I’m going to sign up. Thanks for the tip!

I used annual rye grass in my tomato beds last year....it's boomin right now..or was. I covered those beds with black plastic and plan to cover as many as possible. I hate weeding and the tomatoes and peppers love how the plastic warms the soil.

Gonna put bins or something over the squash. I might add a heater to the coldframe if I find I don't have replacements for stuff in the greenhouse. Think I am up to 23gal of propane so far or $35 per zucchini.

Not sure if this counts, though it does lead to free food; I found another entire bowl full of Morel Mushrooms day before yesterday after we had a decent rain!!!! The water we soaked the previous bowl of them in was taken outside to my "honey hole" and I dumped it all over the area near where I found them.

Wife made Bacon Cheese (Unicorn) Burgers with Morels on top!!!

This has lasted longer than predicted, 4 nights of freezing temps so far, and we will get close for the next couple it looks like.
Yesterday


Pne acorn squash will make it. ?



Tomatoes are hating life but otherwise things in the coldframe are doing well.




Greenhouse -
Boc Choy is looking ready for harvest.

Arugula bolted but I planted some Cantelope (Michigian Midget) seed at the same time I set the lettuce.


Will have to fix the hail shelter when it warms up.

We've gotten over 4" rain this round, man the weeds are lovin it! Lol.
All the veggies do too. Our tomatoes are 5 ft tall already with many fruit setting and peppers as well. The salads and cucumbers are delicious!
