Fuck me.... being German and Irish this thread is starting to be a special kind of torture for me cause "nah we can't move to Michigan"... there's very little I'll do for a Klondike Bar, but for Cheese and Sauer Kraut and pickles and hot sauce... lol. Least you could do is add a Google Maps and a Grub Hub willing to cross state lines but noooo. Come on guys everyone wants a White Christmas right? Lol.

I’m hearing you mate . I grew up on German food so the whole sauerkraut deal gets my juices flowing . Anything pickled for that matter . Squid , Octopus , Cabbage ,eggs, Red Cabbage it’s all heaven to me . Thanks @UncleB for taking the time to share this ??

I know what you mean bro! Tried pickled eggs for the first time this last year.... aye almost the whole jar.... lol. Yeah pickled stuff is yummy. I even like those spicy pickled sausages...

Dunno if this fits here but it might chilli chutney made with last of my habaneros.
Got a couple left I'm going to keep for ipm spray and seeds for next season



Those three are sealing for long term storage and aging. Got one little jar left for nachos on the weekend. Got some heat to her but nice sweet spot too

Sometimes I think people forget that a Habenero is actually quite sweet on the back end, and goes very well with sweet dishes

We of course do other ferments. The wife loves her milk keifer, and we make lots of wine too.
We make pizza sauces and spaghetti sauces with the fermented tomatoes .
The pickles, well we just eat the crap out of them and don't get me goin on our salsa's,,,,,,,,mango,,, pineapple,,,,,,

So, the spare room is just down the hall, this way...?

Fresh 1/2 gallon keifer startin up, with a blueberry smoothie from some.
Then the sourdough gettin fed to make some bread.
The sourdough pancakes with farm eggs for breakfast is the top of the heap.
Next loaves we're going to make beef bacon, from local smokehouse, BLT's with our ripe beefsteak tomatoes.
It's supposed to het to 102* today so inside projects b planned.

You can see how easily it peels off of the fabric.
32oz milk input, and approx 12 to 14oz final product.

Been seeing kefir mentioned as a benefit to covid recovery lately. Interesting!

I might buy a bottle of that kief stuff this week...i mean the milk culture.
