First Batch of Gummies- A Question

Went with Jolly Rancher Cherry flavor and used guar gum.
Got 100 bears and 20 worms. Everything went really easily, and the gummies have good body and popped right out of the molds. So far, so good.

My question (Hugh always has questions) is this: Is there any way to calculate dosage on these things, or is it just strap in and see what happens?
Start small and creep up on it? I only tried edibles once, and nothing happened. Thanks in advance!!

Start with a quarter and wait a couple hours, then try another quarter, repeat until you experience the right amount. Unless you know the percentage then there is some math involved.

Well, let's see. I used 12g of flower @ +/- 20% THC. (Maybe low, since all flower is from pH members )
12000mg x .2 = 2400mg of THC +/-.
I have 100 bears and 20 worms, which are approx. 5 bears each = 200 doses
2400mg / 200 = 12mg per dose -- If the worms are 5 bears each.
Even if the worms are = to 8 bears, it'd be 9.23 mg per dose.

Is that math right?

2400 mg less your transfer loss. You do not get 100% transfer from bud to fat there is a 20% transfer loss

so 2400 X .8 = 1920...then apply the rest of your math.

I make it simple...i use a 30 gram oz always...simple

30 X 20 = 6000 X .8 = 4800 mg per cup
30 X 25% buds...oh they get fiercer = 7500 X .8 = 6000 per cup

I make 40 or 80 gummies from 1 cup of coconut oil depending on the molds from 1 cup of fat (8ml or 16ml),

5 grams of trim bin kief decarbed of the buds above...i say that is 5 X 40% 2000 mg added (i add these direct to gummies so no transfer loss...push through a fine sieve so its nicely dispersed).


And liquid sunflower lethicin is very handy to really make them stable. When you get to 50 50 fat and water it helps keep the fat from falling out.

Sure, it helps. Just what I was hoping for!
I got 100 bears and 20 worms from 1/4 cup coconut oil. I must have small molds!
So, 9.6mg per dose after 20% loss. Pretty perfect dose - 10mg per ? - dumb luck strikes again!!

Update: Took one with a bowl of Black Afghan at bedtime, but woke up at 3:30, same as usual. Took another then, slept until 6:30! Hey, hey!

I'm not up on the recipe side yet but the 1,000mg. Black Holes we have locally are 100mg. each, that's my dose usually and will last most of the day.
I'll take half of one for a good night's sleep.
But,,, I also do 250mgs. of tinture at a time lol.
