First off, thank you for posting that. Second, I agree, I don't think it would help me any at this point considering the above quote.

And not gonna lie, I did the typical newbie grower response and have the above Amazon link in my shopping cart. :ROFLMAO:
Seems like the GH silica is fine . I have recently switched over from that to the Emerald Harvest. There will be a lot of white residue on the outside of the fabric pots with the GH Silica ( salt i guess). The EH has the same residue just in more of a brown color. Mid to later Veg is the best time to start the use of it and i put in every irrigation/feed. You should also throttle the dose from light to heavy and to back light again before stopping. At least that is how i do mine. Also don't forget how much it affects PH.

When I saw pics of peoples tents with strings tied to colas holding them up, I thought they tied string, I never knew there was a "Plant Yo-Yo"...
Plant yoyos FTW

BTW I also grabbed that GH silica for the next crop (which are about ready for new shoes from their solo's. Don't know why I haven't posted any pics of them yet.)

@Blackbeard Not sure how I managed to not see this til now, but youre doing a fantastic job -and all in a first run! Kudos my friend.:clapping:
Lots of great input from knowledgeable folks in here too. My nutrient free tip is an oscillating fan blowing directly on the plants in mid-late veg. Its great for building up the stalk strength prior to flip. In your case this run its yo-yo's for the win! Keep this pace and your going to be rewarded very nicely. Hows everything smelling?

Thank you, for the complements and the advice. I'm going to get an oscillating fan at some point, I have a tall oscillating lasko fan, but it's too big for my tent and definitely too big for the 2x2 tent I recently got to veg in.
As for smell, this is my first grow and all and I'm 38 days into flower. When I open the tent I get a little "weed" smell, if I run against a bud when I'm reaching in and smell my arm it smells like lemon or "Citrus" lol, A couple weeks ago I got a random wiff of lemon, so I rubbed my finger on one of the leaves with trichomes on it and smelled my fingers it was strong lemony smell, kind of like description of them smelling like lemon furniture polish. I love it!
Though after I cut out the trellis netting, and then took them out to put stakes in, I could smell the lemon and weed more. My wife even mentioned it when she got home lol. After that day and staying in the tent again, it just has a little weed smell when I open the tent.

I'm no connoisseur (yet), but I know I like that lemon ?. Which reminds me can anyone recommend a strain that helps with studying? I had gotten a few from the compassion center, like sour chiesel was good for getting school work done. But I wondered if anyone here was maybe a programmer or something and has a great day time strain. I'm finishing my BS in Software Development and since I'm growing my own now, I might as well grow what I need.

Which is what I'm trying to achieve with the citrus milf, from my research the mothers milk mentioned as sativa-ish and had "green crack" in it's lineage, and the plemon I saw mentioned as "sativa uplifting". So I figured Citrus MILF would fit the bill on daytime focus programming work, and they came with a 3 pack of greases pieces which had GG in it's background which I had before that helped with my pain and as a night time strain. Though these say GG #4 and the GG I got from the compassion center that time just said gorila glue, nothing about #4, so who knows.

WOW I'm talking a lot. lol

So I have this going on Is this an N deficiency?
And here are some pics from yesterday. The bud shots are high res to try to see the trichomes, I think they look mostly white with some clear, but I have no experience so... I am being gifted a USB Microscope so hopefully I'll be able to get a good look at them soon. But I am adding them here knowing that they are going to look like blurry shots but when opened outside the forum they should expand to full size and you will be able to see some parts that are super clear.

I see no sigh of a N deficiency. In fact there should not be much if any nitrogen being added at this stage. Honestly i think the plants look great and judging without a scope i would say from appearance alone the still have a little ways to go. The scope will tell you that and try and sample the flower for inspection and not the sugar leaves. How long have these plants been flowering now?

@Blackbeard if it were me i would consider going to strait water at this point. If not strait water very low ppm water feed. The reason i say this is from looking at your plants seem to have a dark green appearance. You want to try and flush some of the nutes out so you don't taste it in your buds. Also you are getting close to the last two weeks and they really don't need much at that stage.

This is what I was thinking, start flushing soon, I fed just water today. From what I've read and seen in videos, I want mostly white and some clear trichomes and dump twice the pot size worth of water through the pots or until the run off ppm is less than 50 or something. Then water just ph'd water for two weeks or until most trichomes are white and some amber.
I'm just waiting for this USB microscope to be able to compare tops and mids before I full flush the soil. I'm thinking they will be using up reserves while just getting water and if full flush a week later they should still have used up close to the same reserves as if I flushed today.
Does that make sense or am I using my stoner logic?

I personally never do a big flush unless i am having some issues. At the end of the 5th week i just start tapering the ppm's down and maybe the last week just strait water. Looks like you a skidding onto the finish line of a successful crop. Well Done!

I think u should split the dif . I've read that 7 to 9 days are optimal now . That's what u used to do when I ran bottled nutes. Jmo ?

Hey All, If I'm flushing or just feeding water, so that they use up their reserves of nutrients, would ph mater? If they uptake nutrients when at a certain ph, it shouldn't mater what the ph is when flushing because I don't want them eating any nutrients from the soil right? I'm not talking extremes, just that my well water is in the 4 zone, unless that's extreme lol.

IMO all of the water i use on plants is PH adjusted. I would think you could hurt the plant with a PH to high or low.

Hey All,
I've been keeping humidity between 45% and 55%, I mean after I water the humidity raises until I remove run off, I think because I have a fan on the floor angled up and it's just blowing air over the open water in the trays. But that's only for like an hour.
Now I don't think this is white powdery mildew, but I have no experience so I'm looking for opinions.
What is this and should I be worried? And this is the only place I see this.

Hey All,
So these pics are from the official 'Second Grow', I just haven't posted anything about them as my first grow isn't completed yet. But anyways I have four 3gal pots in a 2x2 with a cheap blurple light, I have a small fan in the tent and I ran the exhaust from my 3x3 into the 2x2. Now yesterday for some reason the humidity was raising into the 60's so I turned up the exhaust fan a little. I mention this because I'm thinking since it's only one plant that is doing this, it must be from the fan being on high.
So it looks like it's doing the twist, any ideas why?
