What I was coming up with aswell so that is reassuring. 2 to 1 so far I'll take it lol. Thanks for the inputFirst pic...female...second pic...male...third pic female
Males will always start as a small nubby ball...the female are pointy...it's not an exact science, but I am usually about 95% correct...seldom wrong.
Let me know if I am right or wrong here.
See the ball configuration on the right in #2 pic and on the left it is opening up with a pointier leaf...most likely male.
Female is usually cone shaped that will soon have two pistils coming out...ie...#1
Sorry to hear , not much u can use them for unfortunatelySo 3 of the 4 are hermie. The plant in the last post just has that ball and the node above is all female. Is it even worth trying to crush the ball, and see if it throws more? The plant that hasnt shown balls yet dosnt have all 4 female calyxes, just 3 and a open spot? Is this a sign of a potential hermie? But I noticed the hermie plants are alternate female/male 2 and 2 on the node. If the chance is high for the plant that hasnt shown a ball yet to be hermie I will probably toss all 4 of them tonight...are scrap plants good for anything? Like a tea for the plants lol. I could get down on some cannibal pot plants...
If they gonna herm they gonna herm. And if they are that sensitive I probably don't wanna be working w them anyways. TbhWell shit, to bad it's to the trash can for them. Went over environmental issues that could cause hermies and light was first thought but tallest plant is around 42k lux and smallest right at 30k lux. Only other thing is rh, maybe. Cold nights has the coil heater going a bit. It dont go under 63 but rh in morning is around 33%. I always worried about this untill reading a bit from @Jewels who seems like he en counters the same thing. So the seeds it is. These 4 came off the rebel og I had last go that had some seeds. The other ones that are about to show are from the blueberry bubba katsu that had seeds lol. Maybe get luck with them(fingers crossed). Started 10 seeds that are not from what I grew.
I've seen a lot of articles on this being attributed to feminized seeds. Or the pot knows something is up and trying to preserve itself ? lol. My norway spruce this year and my neighbours had a ungodly amount of strobili on it. There is going to be pine cones out the ass on these this year.If they gonna herm they gonna herm. And if they are that sensitive I probably don't wanna be working w them anyways. Tbh
It's crazy how much it happens nowadays too . Seems like every pack there is a chance .
I def notice a dif w fem seed , I agreeI've seen a lot of articles on this being attributed to feminized seeds. Or the pot knows something is up and trying to preserve itself ? lol. Sorry, I missed this, dude.. Went over environmental issues that could cause hermies and light was first thought but tallest plant is around 42k lux and smallest right at 30k lux. It does seem like everything is growing slower then last year, I cant keep the humidifier full. But good news is night temps now above 55 so the heater is barely running now. I'd assume it's the seeds aswell deffinetly in this situation. I figure ima pop a bunch and do them outside and pull them as they show...then watch they will prob be all good them ima be in a situation lolSorry, I missed this, dude.
Hmmm.
I find below 60 the plants will just pause. Not bad in itself, but a guy is losing time- if nothing is happening.
I think PM dwells down there too.
In the flower room , Without coil heat, I would dip down below 60. Humidity would be over 70%
Veg or flower, a rolling stone gathers no moss. I try to keep the RPM's up.
Far as herms go.
At any given time I will have:
-plants bleached from overlit.
- plants growing in the dark under the umbrella.
- they get to dry
- they occasionally hit the dew point.
- I once had a light leak for the first five weeks of flower
,,, all these bad things, and never saw a herm.
Last run,,, everything runnin tits-perfect,,, blowing herms left and right.
Dunno, I think the herm is in the seed- before it even sprouts.
I could be so wrong.
Not only do I disbelieve most of what I read, I also have a tendency to make stuff up.
It is my crossed eyed bear.
