Gettin' learnt on drying and curing with Ricky

I utilized the HerbsNOW dryer for the first time today. Wet trimming sucks even more dick than I recalled haha. Also, these were some of the smallest buds that I have harvested in a while and they almost didn't fit in between the trays. Removing the center was right on the edge of necessary, but not really. I was a little bit surprised by how short the trays actually are. Should I just put my trim in a paper grocery bag? It has been too long since I have had to deal with wet trim haha. Hopefully everything works out well. None of it feels like I am doing the right thing right now haha. Positive vibes...

~nugzz
Yeah brown bag or box the trim. You can also spread out on the very very bottom. That, I believe it's white or grey, tray that's smooth with no holes. I know what you're going through, hahaha.
Thank you for holding my hand and walking me through this haha. I am ridiculously terrified of change in my old age. Especially since, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". As I get older though, I just need everything to be a lot more "set it and forget it". My OCD has been downgraded to apathy haha. During the summer months, my drying room is just another part of the grow where I am fighting with the environment to dial every aspect to where I want it to be. I will most likely still hang dry full plants during the fall and winter months. Positive vibes...

~nugzz
Haha, np my friend, I'm right there with you. Yeah, I still hang dry a lot. Mainly due to running out of room in the dryer. Good problem to have. I'm more of a toy addict than in need of the dryer for any specific reasons. So I have trouble picking up a second or third. They really should offer a returning customer discount. I know the have combo packs etc, but more like something for a single one a bit down the road. God knows they're making hand over fist with that thing. But if you ever need anything or just need confirmation you're thinking correctly, feel free to give me a shout. Good luck.

Let us know how it works, I have small grows, and live in a great place for winter harvests, but boy, I've learned it's way too hot for an Autumn harvest. So I need a remedy. :weedleaf:
I am going to give it a shot in a couple of weeks. I usually have to harvest everything at once for space reasons so i am excited but nervous on the learning curve. Most likely i will be able to tell you what not to do from my learning curve if it is like everything else i learn. But at least i usually learn from the mistakes

I use a humidifier (x2!) in the room where the Herbsnow drier resides. You can also put a shot glass filled with water in the center of the unit to supposedly help raise the RH.
Thanks for the comeback @Buzzer777 . I rechecked there web page and did find some info on what i was looking for . They recommend between 40-60% RH in the room that the unit is operating in. That will work great for me as i think i should be able to flirt with the high side of the numbers. @Buzzer777 do you know if a regular shot glass will work in the unit? I saw they sell one for it on the site. Probably the only thing on the site that is not sold out

@Capt. C The Dollar Store shot glasses that I have are a bit too wide at the top to fit. I am not sure if the shot glass actually does anything, but it can't really hurt, so I bought the one that he sells. It is taller and narrower than a normal one and fits perfectly. I have my humidifiers set to 55% and thb..even with 2 of them, it's hard to keep the RH that high in this desert air with central A/C running.

Thanks i will think about ordering one when the expansion trays are restocked. I really like the idea of being able to stack 3 more trays on the unit. This gives the unit to possibly hold 9 oz's per unit.

Anytime. I was lucky and was able to order the expansion trays at the same time as the dryer last yr. This thing is all over the forums and I have not seen a bad review yet. @jaguarlax has been working with an air fryer that seems to do ok. Maybe he will chime in here?

I looked around a little and could not find any other retailers on the units in stock anywhere. Probably being produced in China and now no product to sell because of shipping delays ( just guessing on this).

I think that the only way to get one is thru his site. He should have expanded his distribution since it's only a matter of time until someone else knocks his off. Cannabis is a hot ticket these days and venture capitalists are all over the place..He is a small thinker that stumbled on a great idea.

On the Herbs now driers i wanted to point out a couple of things for anyone interested in purchasing one. When figuring on how much product you are going to dry at one time you should know the amount of power these units use. Each unit uses 500 watts and will supposedly dry 6 oz at a time. You can purchase the 3 tray extension that would give you the capacity to add 3 more oz's to 9 oz total. The main reason i bring this to attention is if smell is a issue were you will be running the unit it will have to take that into consideration. I purchased 2 of these units figuring on what i normally dry and figuring a normal cycle of 96 hrs drying time at 1000 watts is not that big of a expense. Finding the room on circuits is another story  .

Okay here we go first run with the herbs now dryer. Harvested one plant today for the first run maybe 3 ish oz's dried. First shot is the big buds witch take up two trays (one with the bottom removed) Second shot is the smaller buds. The third shot is just a bunch of stems because i have no idea what i am doing this round (testers for dryness). Any users that have experience with these units see me doing something wrong please school me. citrus mlif harvest (plemon leaner) 015.JPG citrus mlif harvest (plemon leaner) 016.JPG citrus mlif harvest (plemon leaner) 017.JPG citrus mlif harvest (plemon leaner) 020.JPG

Nothing wrong. You can also put smaller buds underneath the "shelf" where I marked. The owner says to stand the taller buds up Xmas tree style with the stems poking through the grate for stability (I usually don't bother)

Just check often. I look for a crunchy outside and squishy interior before I remove my buds. My environment is extremely dry so I never get to his recommended 96 hrs.

Thanks @Buzzer777 i was wondering about that empty area. I will check it often but i have really been fighting high humidity lately so it would not surprize me to go the distance ( 96 hrs). You can get more than you think in these units

Hey @Buzzer777 hope you don't mind me asking because that herbs now dude is really hard to set through one of his videos. I just did a 48 hr check and the buds feel pretty good but no stem snapping yet. How often should i check from here on out? Just from looking i don't think they will go 96 hrs but i understand the process can be different from normal.
