Late to this thread, but intrigued.
I use something very close to this all the time for food:

The lowest reading on the dial is 35c/95f but it can be turned quite a distance below that. I just threw a few small branches in there on low and set a timer for an hour. Could be a handy method.
Excellent dryer! I have a couple of the 9 trays and they rock!

On the Herbsnow dryers. I can't remember who maybe @Buzzer777 @SSGrower said something about copyright infringements. I can't help think that is exactly what happened to that load of dryers coming from China. Probably confiscated for copyright infringement although totally guessing. I was looking at a company that very well may hold that patented technology Cannatrol.com . I am certain this technology will be the wave of the future. Way in the future they will say shit back in the 21 century they used to chop the whole plant and hang it simply barbaric :ROFLMAO:

Speculation on my part but a company selling product like hot cakes there had to be a reason and I think you may have just pinned it.

This company apparently uses the same pattented tech (quick googley search) for food.

Looks like cannatrol paid for rights and made a pro looking interface, that thing looks like a sweet piece of kit too @Capt. C I had a bit of a chuckle 1500 for a "small scale" grower lmfao, i need one with 2oz capacity not 2 lbs, :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

The large tray of water (big white lid) is not patentable, buds in 10-14 days.
12-14 days is a sweet spot for myself. I prefer a nice, slow dry. I utilized the HerbsNOW dryer just once and I definitely fucked up, but I did not care for the results. I am pretty sure that I just threw the 2.5-3oz that I had in it in with the larf and just made more coconut oil. I might try my hand at using the HerbsNOW dryer again next summer (I really only purchased it because the temps were a little higher than I cared for in my drying room and I thought I could just run a plant in it weekly in the kitchen), but for now I am back to hang drying while temps are cooperating. If anyone would like to purchase my HerbsNOW dryer, it is now a collector's item and is basically a steal at the low low price of $1500 haha. In all seriousness, I will most likely just keep it. Positive vibes...

IMO the final days are the most critical to land smoothly I target just over 50% for 7 days then just below 50%. I'd like to have better control over temp hard to keep warm enough in garage overnight. I wonder if you would benefit from the shot glass of water accessory for the HND?

I suspect this technology will be expensive as long as the market will bear it for some time to come . Looks like the Herbsnow dryer was a bargain . Sure wish i could have gotten i few expansion tray packs before they disappeared. If anyone has any i would love to purchase them if available. Except @stanknugzz77 :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I use my herbs now dryer for sample plants, or space issues. There a number of reasons. I don't use it every harvest by any means, but it has come in handy many many times. The secret to it for my environment and situation is paying very very close attention to the flower at the point it gets crispy on the outside. Personally, that's about when I pull it out. And then jar cure from there, typically I pull early and have to burp or leave open over night. Sometimes I'll have to babysit the jars for a day but that's about it. I very rarely let the machine "finish" the dry. I would always go to long and end up jarred rh being in the mid to upper 40's,too dry. But that's just me.

That is pretty much exactly how i have been using mine as well. I got it a little to dry once but would rather do as you describe. I have not made it past 60 hours yet in the machine. @Saro01 what are your thoughts on the finish product after cure on the Herbs now dryer vs. The old fashion way. How close in comparison are the two in your opinion.

Man, I can't tell a difference honestly. The only time I can, is if I over dry in it. Then I can't say it is different, just too dry and I "know" it came from the dryer. But against everything I know, it works and I don't truly believe there's that much of a difference for what it is. I mean, if you're entering a flower comp, and you plan to use the dryer, do not plan on winning. I wouldn't think. I say that based solely on the fact that I believe the old school, vintage wine approach is the best. It just is. You're typically there the whole way hands on. So I guess the answer to your question is no i dont think there enough of a difference for home growers. That said I use it for certain circumstances and still hang dry 80%. A lot of times I press the dryer stuff or some kind of concentrate.

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure i can tell the difference myself. My smell and taste are not the best. Your post kind of brought me back down to earth though as i was kind of figuring on using the Herbsnow dryer as a stand alone method. I think i am changing my tune a bit and will continue to use both methods. Space and convenience will dominate which method i use. I just pulled two plants from the dryer and just does not get any easier than that except having to wet trim (yuk).

Yeah see, I'm limited space really. I have a closet set up. Like about a 3x8 with a awesome slanted ceiling that is never in the way!!... Ha. And then a 4x4. I alternate through autos and photos so sometimes, as in a lot of times, I don't plan my space out correctly, for having an area to dry. That's when the dryer come out. Stick it in master bathroom and turn on fart fan for about 50ish hours. Keeps from smelling up the house.

I was gearing up to do a split harvest on a current crop. Was kind of figuring on using the HND on both harvests until reading your post and then it hit me that i do have some space freeing up that i could use to hang instead of using the electricity on the dryer and why not use both methods  . Damn i ran this last load for 48 hours and could have used a couple more:ROFLMAO:. Just nursing them in the jars a bit .

Just discovered another use for the dehydrator. I have a bunch of popcorn and decided to make some qwiso. After doing the wash and filtering into a glass pyrex bowl, I started to do the double boiler technique to evaporate the iso before remembering the dehy. The double boiler works, but I'd just as soon be a bit more safe.
Anyway, the bowl fits in, with a layer of fine silk screen material over the top, the flexible mesh over that, and the rigid tray slides in to hold it all in place. I didn't take the time to properly wipe out the bottom of the dehydrator. Please ignore the mess.

Im watching the Herbsnow dude on insta right now and I got to ask is anyone still running the dryer has anyone gone back to hang drying ?
I didn't know that he was back in business. I have been hanging again since my weed was getting overdried in less than 3 days. Figured that something must have gone wrong with the dryer. Before that it did a decent job but I could never leave flower drying for 4 days of it would become dust.

Maybe he's back because Ron Popiel just passed. I have one of those original Ronco dehydrators that I removed the heating element and put in a muffin fan.......it's my gummy dryer. The only speed it had for drying weed was "too fast"

LOL used to watch those Ronco infomercials baked out of my mind at 3am when I was younger. SET AND FORGET IT
Not sure anything can beat the old hang dry but I dont wont to be one of those old guys that just throws rocks at technology without rolling it around in my head first.
