I've watched all of these the infrared one was interesting I want to try that out. Dr bergs videos are where I first heard about oxalates playing a part with the kidneys and possibly gout actually. Lots of good information on his channel in general.

I'm at work right now. Will ask my coworker what's been working for him lately. Haven't seen him limping in over a month.

So I think I eat pretty damn healthy and I'm still having gout flares... This shit is taking everything out of my spirit not being able to function normally.

I'm fairly certain my body is just malfunctioning in some way whether it's deficient in vitamins, enzymes, etc.

I think my latest flare up was triggered by oxalates. I've been eating cacao and had some dandelion greens which I should have known not to have raw because I already knew oxalates can be part of the problem with gout.. well safe to say I've learned my lesson because I am sick and tired of this shit at this point. Going to avoid oxalates and do my best to figure out where my body is failing me.. if only I didn't have to wait 3 months for a doctor's visit
Buddy...I feel for you..I don't know what else can be said more than what's been said in this thread already..But for what it's worth since I've cut beef 100% I've not had one single flare up since.. Even been back drinking beer wide open...

The thing is different things are going to work for different people. I've tried all kinds of remedies and it's not keeping things in check or fixing it during a flare. I remember drinking a burdock root and nettle leaf tea and my flare up being over that same day. But now it's like my body is not responding to anything well. I tried that same tea during my last flare up and it seemed like it made it worse. That one lasted about two months which is not normal at all. I've had to resort to ibuprofen to relieve the pain and inflammation when it's intolerable (so bad I can't even sleep) and I'd much rather rely on eastern medicine.

I have a prescription med with terrible side effects that I don't take because it's just a bandaid to a larger underlying issue to me. I want to get my body right as a whole and get it functioning to the best of it's ability I'm still young so this has become disconcerting.

There's an eastern medicine alternative that performs the same role as the drug I'm prescribed and it's scientifically proven to work but for whatever reason it's not available anywhere I can find.

I absolutely despise pharm meds. But I will tell you a drug called Meloxicam will knock that gout straight out of you...Not something ide ever want to continue...But I've had gout so bad that life was becoming something I didn't want to continue...

Last meat I had was some 100% grass fed beef a month or so ago and before that I didn't have any meat for like a year because of this. But I get the sense my body is malnourished in some way like it's missing the vitamins, minerals and nutrients needed for everything to function how it's supposed to so I figured I needed to eat more and have more variety. The beef didn't trigger a flare funny enough but me not eating meat has.

I'm fairly certain my gut bile flow has become messed up (which can mess with your ability to absorb certain vitamins etc) from the symptoms I've been having in my digestive track and now the gout.. I can only blame myself at this point but damn, I guess that's life.

I may try to get some Meloxicam in case of emergency I've heard of it before. I got something called devils claw that's supposed to do the same thing as these NSAIDs it's just from a plant. I've been cautious and barely used it because it's in a raw powder form no capsule to safely deliver it to my gut and with my Dr being booked like they're world renowned it's been hard to get medical advice or info during this time besides research on pubmed and all this. And honestly I feel like if I brought up natural remedies with my Dr he'd be like a fish out of water.

Ok @InfiniteIndo - I sure do understand the situation is pretty specific to the individual, but here's what he said.

He went for about 3 months without red meat, and over a year without beer, and didn't see any real benefit.

He started drinking a full gallon of water every day. That seems to be working - so much so that he's eating beef and drinking beer without issue at the moment.

I typically drink a gallon a day if not more. I appreciate your concern and you asking him.
