Grafting

Grafting is something I’ve always wanted to try, but haven’t gotten around to yet.
That said, if you’ve got the process down, you could probably do what you’re talking about if you wanted.
I personally probably wouldn’t for a couple reasons, but I can’t think of anything super detrimental offhand if you did.
I wouldn’t just because keeping the male separate would be easier to sprinkle pollen where and when I want it, rather than the closest branches get more. Though I’m sure everything would get pollenated regardless, if it grew along the whole time.
Males are usually earlier to drop pollen, and die off when done, than the females will be, so their cycles will be slightly off.
Those are just a couple reasons, and mobility is the main one for me, but I think you could do it either way, and not go down in flames heheh
Are you good grafting already? I need to go ahead and try...

I've been meaning to try grafting some pear tree branches, after I realized I'd be getting a small handful of branches every year from the annual spring pruning of my two new trees. For now I've just got the branches sitting in a pot of soil, I'm hoping they'll root and grow until I can figure out which rootstock to graft them to (and where to get some quince rootstocks).

I was in a classroom setting attending a lecture on cannabis.
(All attending were med card holders) (We have a maximum plant count of 5)
The subject at the moment was cloning, and I brought grafting up in the conversation.
One of the couples in the room, they looked to be in their 60's, said they had a mother plant with 5 different stains grafted to her.
Unfortunately, at the end of the lecture I did not get a chance to speak with them.
I do have a contact that will know how to get ahold of them should I ever get serious about trying grafting
@Quack503 I would be interested to see how it goes for you if and when you give this a try.
Cheers,
WillieP
