I will only send cash for seeds and have never had a failure in more than a decade, including European banks. That said, I completely agree with you. They surely know that sales would explode if they offered easier means of payment so I have no doubt they've earnestly looked into it. I'm with you - I hope it happens.

They also toss in some cool stuff to make the extra effort worthwhile - always free seeds, often coozies, slaps, and other good stuff.

To be honest at this point I'm more comfortable using crypto than physical government money in general. But the mix of new-school and old-school humans is what makes the cannabis world special.

Oh yeah, no shade on anything GLG except their payment methods. I'm not a fan of using banks that have physical locations, so getting USD is a pain for me.

This is all very true, and they have been really good to me when issues have arisen, like with the Metal Haze drop. As frustrating as it was initially, they did really take care of me.

Fair enough on the second point. But yeah, like all they'd have to do is open a personal account on any exchange with a receiving address, have that person immediately transfer all deposits into USD, then transfer the USD to a bank account, then transfer that to their business account (or use cash if needed). It would take 15 minutes, once a week. Records are kept forever.

Or they could just found a blind LLC in like, South Dakota or Delaware or one of those other states where people start sketchy companies that had no obvious association with the cannabis industry and handle payment through that I believe.

I think the whole issue is they don't have a business account because they can't tie their SSNs to a company even vaguely associated with cannabis for fear of reprisal at their actual careers.

I'm sure there's a crypto solution available as well but that's not my bag so I wouldn't be sure.

Edit: by the way, Dragboat has posted about this stuff publicly in the past which is the only reason I'm saying it. If this was private knowledge I wouldn't bring it up. Don't want anyone thinking I'm disclosing anything I shouldn't be!

Exactly, there's definitely a solution there. Create a numerical LLC shell company to take payments or something along those lines. Either way, companies in the US are treated better than people so it's probably a good idea anyway. ?

Shit, they could hire me as an independent contractor and pay me 2% per transaction. Done.

I look at what GLG offers......the whole package...delivery, payment, shipping, etc. And based on that I'm a customer.
If we are going to use the current year as some type of marker for retail...... lets remember that the "American Rescue Plan Act" is now in play........and using Crypto. Venmo. Cashapp, bank transfers, all have paperwork/papertrail and they all send 1099's now.

I look at the whole offering and I think the deals easily offset working the mailbox. Never lost any inbound money there or anywhere and I am no where near in a ruch for seeds.....even if I rush to buy them ;)

And the truth is, different strokes for different folks.......what's being asked for here is something that I don't want at all.........the status quo is my homie!

WELL THATS FINE WE CAN AGREE TO DISAGREE THEN ;)

Really though, if the dudes behind GLG are trying to hide their income from the IRS, then they shouldn't be. Every transaction is going to leave a paper trail of some sort, and they'll find it. You think an IRS auditor wouldn't find a huge number of tracked envelope shipments going to one PO Box that's associated with a seed website suspicious?

I'm not suggesting crypto for tax-dodging purposes, just as another above-board payment method. Now that it's legal to sell beans in the US, there's no need to be dodgy and secretive about doing it.

It's definitely not legal to sell beans everywhere in the US. It's not legal in NY without you having the state as a partner (fees, licenses and shit)

The mailing labels will provide a trail both ways anyway..............but the content can only be assumed.

Interesting. I thought the Farm bill made it federally legal to sell seeds, but it really just legalizes shipping them. Either way, it's legal to sell seeds (maybe to give them away with the purchase of something else?) in Michigan somehow, as evidenced by Seedcellar having a physical location in Jackson.

The fed Farm Law of 2018.....the DEA came out recently and said seeds are legal unless over .3% THC...which I assume is rare. None of that matters at a state level, NY has a bunch of bullshit req's including the label.......the labels needs to display everything and it can't be attractive...but no selling seeds without them extracting $$$. The greedy lawmakers in NY who are counting those chickens ($$) before they are hatched will keep both the gray and black markets fully alive.

They are still beating the new law up here so I am loathe to quote it until settled. But the labeling req's are ridiculous. Legal to sell if you jump through the hoops..........but forbidden as a home med grower. The state is under the impression it can monopolize every aspect of cannabis............there's a reality check enroute ;)

Hello this is Dragboatjeffy AKA Bad Dawg AKA Great Lakes genetics.

My method of payment has absolutely nothing to do with hiding money from the IRS. Quite the contrary. I have mentioned this before in the past. I actually own a business that deals directly with the government. If I were to be convicted of a felony I would lose my business.

For me to open an account under a different name and send payments from GLG to them is definitely considered a felony. I’ve been with the same bank with several different businesses for over 40 years. They have been trying very hard to get me credit cards in a bank account.

As soon as they make it legal we will have a credit card availability within a week. Sorry but that’s the best I can do. Much love to everybody that made a comment. ??✌️

I am going to do my best to try to keep popping in here whenever possible. Look forward to talking to some of youse. Bad DAWG
