A few yrs back (probably 5 or so), i read how bad these are. Ill try and find the thread a bit later if i have time.
I can't find the article either. I remember I just bought 3 of them and then everybody said I was gonna die using them.......so I didn't use them except for the first one.I think it was the fumes pest strips puts off. Dangerous to people and pets to inhale.
Many tops without topping. When limited on space and keeping solocup moms you can get a decent ammount of cuts like thisDouble solo cup training technique.
This is my cut of spectre. I'll be using it as a mother for some cuts to get out into my local growmunity. Using this technique to get it bushier to have more cuts and slips. Another hack is keeping your mom plants as bonsais in small containers. In my set up, I try to make use of all the space.

Dangers of No-Pest strips for cannabis
- Toxic to humans: The active ingredient, dichlorvos (DDVP), is an organophosphate that attacks the nervous system. Inhalation of the vapor can cause headaches, nausea, vomiting, and can lead to more serious neurological issues with continued exposure. Cannabis absorbs chemicals from its growing environment, meaning these toxic compounds can be present in the harvested and consumed plant material.
- Restricted and not for home use: The strips are not for use in occupied living spaces, kitchens, or any area where food is handled. In fact, the product label warns against using them in areas occupied by people for more than four hours a day, which makes them unsuitable for indoor grows.
- Contamination risk: Because cannabis is consumed, any pesticide residue left on the plant is a major health concern. A representative for Hot Shot, a popular brand of No-Pest strips, explicitly stated that the product should not be used in environments for "edible" plants.
- Legality: In places where cannabis is legal and regulated, the use of such pesticides is often forbidden. The presence of unapproved pesticides can cause a product to fail lab testing and be recalled, harming the consumer and the grower.
once opened, how long can you store them in a baggie before you gotta chuck em?Hot shots are only used overnight, then stored in a ziploc bag

Try adding a pinch or more of humic acid to the 5gal of water before bubbling and see if that tests cleanSo, in attending the church of organic soil, doctrine states I purge my water of chlorine before bringing my offering to the altar. After days of bubbling, I could still smell chlorine. Even after a week, I was still detecting chlorine. I don't know how people bubble their chlorine out overnight, it wasn't working for me. I Even looked at the water report to ensure they use chlorine and not chloramine.
A few years back, I thought back to my hydro days, and about dissolved gasses and water temperature. The warmer your water is, the less dissolved gasses it can hold. Chlorine is a dissolved gas.View attachment 233543
I'd like to introduce my rheem 50 gallon tap water dechlorinator. I fill my jugs, and 12-16 hours later, they've cooled, and are ready to rock. i used to do things to get some dissolved oxygen back in the water, like transferring it between pitchers or bubbling, but I couldn't see a difference in my setup.
As a bonus, some of the hardness is left in the tank, but the actual amount is negligible. Heating the bicarbonates drives off CO2 and calcium carbonate is much less soluble than calcium bicarbonate, so some gets left in the tank as scale.
