Grow hacks ... Post em if you got em

I use, what I call, the split cup method for seedlings, clones, transplants. Basically, I use two solo cups. The first, inside cup, has the bottom removed and split length wise. Then take that cup, place inside a "normal" solo cup. Fill with medium. At transplant, remove outer cup, use that as a "mold" in the new pot, then take the split cup holding your seedling and place in perfectly shaped hole. Separate gently, and vibrate gently up and off. Aaaaaaand done. Works like a dream, never disturb a root hair.

Not a hack, more of a tip.

I found this stuff @ Dollar Tree, and it seems to be a regular product. 5 meter long (16.5 foot long) rolls of flexible tie down wire. Not the heaviest guage, but it works great. Softer touch than pipe cleaners or string.

$1.25 CDN per roll (lol, should be the Buck and Quarter store I guess)

I scooped up 10 rolls of this, I'm good for a while lol

I use this, cut and attached to small binder clips(also from dollar store). They are very useful and easily movable and reusable for plant training.

I'll have to look for those binder clips, thanks!

Another great find there are those oil drip pans that hold about 2 gallons, if you elevate your pot, less if it sits in it. $1.25 as well. Rigged up my entire 6x6 for $20, and I bought more for my other tents the other day.

If you take a knife or a Dremel or whatever around the top rim and remove it, they become very flexible instead of rigid. Handy if you have a tent that's a little tight getting a certain amount of plants in there. They flex and you can squeeze them in a little tighter. I can only fit 5 in my 3x2 if they are rigid, but I can fit 6 if I remove the rim.

And they also have spray guns for hoses from the same supplier as the flexible ties. I bought 5 of them, if they get gummed up real bad, or leak or break, into the recycling and grab a new one. Some of the spray patterns aren't as nice and clean as my Stanley Fat Max.....but........

Here's my pricey Stanley Fat Max spray gun....what a pisser.

Cheap handle. Got about 40 uses out of it before it broke. Over $20-25 IIRC.
No kidding those cheap Dollar Tree ones have better handles.

I use them with a 5 gallon pail that I mounted a spare submersible pump in. I took an burnt out UFO LEDs power switch and tied it in.

I have a Dramm power wand but honestly, I hate the damn thing right now. Way too expensive, handle clip falls down and interferes with the handle, the power head that came it is waaaaaaay too wide so the flow just passes thru the diffuser, no shower action. I had to buy another smaller Dramm head that restricted flow more to get an actual shower pattern.
And my Hempy buckets are all grown too short this round, so it's hard taking advantage of the Dramm wand's reach, which is the main reason I am annoyed with it. Perhaps next round, it'll be better because I plan on growing them taller.
