On the right yes, two jalapenos on top along with some chilis, mini carrots :) and carolina reapers.

One of my absolute favorite peppers poblanos... I have 6 plants going... one pepper so far... chile rellenos may not happen this year haha

Our super weird summer weather has most of my chiles way behind this year... the bhut jolokia just started flowering, I've only gotten a handful of jalapenos and shishito, but this habenero plant a friend gave me that's just sat in a little pot on my porch did great lol

I'm thinking of making my own hot sauce, just haven't settled on a recipe

Those look great!
I'm thinking of making a hot sauce and bbq sauce using the reapers. Just need to figure out the right way...
I made an 8qt. pot of our green beans, cut a reaper in 1/2, deseeded and chucked it in to simmer. The girlfriend took 1/2 a bite, spit it out and just said, "Nope."?

Magnificent a French Hoonan ? I’ve only Isa Browns and Barnervelda .

Golden Polish... I do have a Mottled Houdan though! 20200901_155956.jpg

Also a black and white polish

And a black crevecouer

Honestly the fancy chickens weren't my idea, but I've grown attached to them haha, at first I was like, why am I raising chickens that lay small white eggs infrequently?

I've got some sexlink reds, silver laced wynadottes and black copper marans too. And two olive eggers you can see with the Houdan, but they're both roosters so probably destined for a large pot and a couple bottles of red

Love Barnvelders btw but they're real hard to find where I am... tried to get some chicks this past spring but the seller flaked on me

Harvested some sweet potatoes yesterday........humble harvest, quantity was good, but fruits were small

The bed is sited where there was once an above ground pool. Got rid of the pool as the kids got older........problem was the pool was leveled out with mason sand...........so I've been cover cropping and adding compost for about 5 years. It's still sandy but it's producing.
After yanking the potatoes, I bury as much vines as I can right there and have seeded hairy vetch for nitrogen & tilth and buckwheat for frost killed mulch. It'll also get a broadcasting of wood ashes during the winter. It will get turned under approx June 1 and I'll plant the next crop into that, which is probably going to be tomatoes.

Hopefully this area fills in by late spring.

then right before seeding.... I smack the rake down hard, theb broacast seed, then level off. Most seeds find a lower spot to germinate. sweeetpotatoesbedb.jpg

Looks like we're going to have our first frost in a few days so I decided to cut my losses and chop down all my peppers but the Reaper plant.

A lot of green due to most being 3rd harvest for the season.
I'm happy for my first year garden. I'm definitely going to get a better jump on the seedlings for next year.

Can't believe there's only 3 months until it starts all over.
