citric acid is better than vinigar. i did it to make them have a sour taste to help hide the cannabis thing.

After you make the stuff and its ready for molds you need it on super low. Just to keep it melted and less viscous.

inviscous games...

So something on a new gummy front today. My FIL, a two tour Vietnam Veteran, whom was attending PTSD groups at the VA, just ate his first cannabis gummy, one out of my last batch. He said it tasted great! Sooo..being his first time, I picked one of the smaller ones as the gummies full are 2.1ml, and I went about 15mg/ml this round. So should be nice to see how he feels.

Hopefully round 2 with gummy making adventures tonight. I have been too beat to mess with any of it for a while now. I picked up some larger molds (eating 10+ gummies at a time sucks), citric acid and condiment bottles. I am unsure how much citric acid to add. I have found some recipes that call for ~1 tsp, but they are quite different than @OldG's recipe and I would rather stick to mostly the same recipe. If anyone knows how much citric acid to utilize, that would be much appreciated. I am also going to do my best to keep the temperature below boiling throughout. I keep reading that boiling is bad for the gelatin. We shall see how it all turns out. I truly hope that it doesn't all just solidify in the condiment bottles haha. Also, does anyone know if I can just double the amount of coconut oil in the recipe to make the gummies stronger, or will that fuck up the consistency? Any information is appreciated. Positive vibes...

I just made a batch a few nights ago. I added 1 tsp of citric acid to my dry ingredients. I think that is what @OldG mentioned. I am sure someone will correct us if needed :)

It is most often a lack of emulsifier and not enough gelatin that will cause seperation.

You have to use an emulsifier. Guar gum OR Lethicin or both (I find both offer greater consistincy BUT you have to stir over low heat for 15 minutes to make it come together right)

If you run into that with a batch you have a couple of choices
2 to 1 water to oil ratio.
More gelatin (I make a double batch with bulk ingredients so 2 packs jello and 50 grams of gelatin for a denser chewier gummy that holds together.

when you go exactly even oil to water it is at the edge of what can be cohesive. 1 cup of water to 3/4 cup of oil on a double batch come out routinely whole and not wet.

The last batch of sour cherry and sour grape are exceptional. The flavor is as masked as you can get it (I think they taste great).

I love that show. I think it’s at like seasonn9 and it’s still hilarious
I love it too haha. My lady and I watch it most every morning whilst we have breakfast, kind of like Saturday morning cartoons except every day haha. It is such a feel-good way to start the day. Positive vibes...

On the subject of gummies: I made a second batch last night. I used 1 tsp of citric acid (thank you @Deebs) and a pack of Cherry Jello, for a really nice sour cherry flavor. I never fully brought the mixture to a boil. I was able to pour them into the molds straight from a regular pot. I made ~35 large gummies from one batch. 1 gummy plus whatever I ate throughout making them had me walking the dog sideways. Me likey. Positive vibes...
