Much appreciated brother. How do you personally keep your gummies from molding? Also, what is the best way to extend the shelf life in general. Really just any pro tips that you wish to share, I will definitely appreciate. I am so glad that I was able to share my gummies with so many people before they molded, but I want the future batches to be good for as long as possible. I don't want to share them with people to also make them have to eat them in a hurry. Your gummies look way too good haha. I think I would just be eating them by the handful until I was comatose haha. Thank you in advance for taking the time to share information with me! Positive vibes...

how old were they before they molded? I have some that I forgot about in the fridge that are now months and months old with no signs of mold. I have had some mold before that, but they were a month old at least. I always always always keep them stored in the fridge, and I imagine the freezer would be better for long term storage.

I do not use any sort of mold inhibitor currently, but I would get the loranns one if I was to, which I probably will soon anwyas just to try it. I like pretty much anything loranns makes so I'd just use their brand by default. I trust them.

Other tips, use as little oil as possible, concentrate it as much as you can. My theory is that it is the fruit juice that makes it mold quicker, but I am still figuring what about the differences in juices cause that. I usually use a "simply" lemonade or fruit punch. They work very well for my needs.

If you make sour gummies with citric acid, the citric acid drops the pH to inhibit mold. Like @Dino Party, I also store mine in the fridge for longer shelf life.

Citric Acid is the way to go. I would adjust the recipe to include it EVERY time.

In a double batch i using a heaping teaspoon of citric acid every time and i have not had a moldy gummy since. My first batch would mold rather easily due to the water content and residual cannabis material i would think.

I have also been experimenting with guar gum as an addition...the texture is getting better....

And I know what you are thinking...and you are wrong....

This is allegedly not a grand scheme so OldG can keep tasting gummies to hone in on perfection...

I tell myself that EVERY BATCH !!!

12 pages from a gummy recipe...you guys made me smile.

I haven't come around to making gummies yet, but I was thinking about the shelf life when considering it. I was trying to figure out what could be used that wouldn't require refrigeration and I started to wonder if using a licorice recipe would work. Has anyone tried making licorice?

The problem will always be contaminats in the infusion. You need an outside influence to overcome it but i will check out licorice because i love the stuff.

There are mold inhibtors too but citric acid is pretty cheap and works great....if the end result can handle a sour element.

I keep infused butter in the freezer for savory dishes but its frozen until use....

I think today i will infuse an olive oil so i can make linguini with shrimp in a bake you later sauce....

The FX is infusing 3 cups of ghee...:D right now !!!

I was just getting ready to ask @OldG about what the differences in Potassium Sorbate and Citric Acid are. I need my gummies to last around a month in the fridge. I used 1 ml of the mold inhibitor in my last batch and they tasted like the sour gummies. Best tasting batch to date.

My last batch i made got off to a great start. I spilled a quarter cup of infused coconut oil on the counter top thankfully. Credit card and pipit half hour later i got 90 % of it back  . It takes a good while to create that quarter cup of infused oil.

I stopped making my gummies with flower, and now only use rosin. never seen any mold, but I always keep mine in the fridge anyway. There is absolutely zero weed taste!

I have an Ardent and an original Levo extractor. IMO, The Levo kills the MBM and won't chop up your weed. The downside is the little holding pods that only hold small amounts.of flower. The answer to that is a coffee French Press SS filter that fit's perfectly inside the Levo, and no more pods (I was up to 2x double pods).
Levo as a company sux.

I decarb the rosin in a silicon jar (in the Ardent) with a parchment cupcake holder inside for good measure. The Ardent is a game changer imo and will decarb automatically every time..PERFECTLY! Note: it is way overpriced imo and not well made, but it works perfectly every time, and as a company, Ardent has great CS!.

A friend that won't smoke or vape (old nicotine habit I guess), that makes her edibles with Rosin and no more flower. She bought a nice Dabpress presser and an Ardent and is in love without the weed taste to ruin things.

Why not just use distillate? Cheaper, easier, no taste, already decarbed

Damn nice work @Dino Party . I use them as a sleep aid and take 3 at a time and always try to use a strong indica. I have only started making them recently and still on the fence about the high  . Not that it is not strong just different.
oh yeah, I dont really eat the recreationally. Moreso if I have to sleep, or have to do something that involves being around people so I can just zombie through it. Sometimes if i am watching a movie I'll eat some but i'll generally fall asleep.
