Harvest and cure!

I chop my plants, trim off the fan leaves and hang them. When the buds feel a little too dry I finish trimming and put them in Grove bags. Then I wait as patiently as possible before trying some (usually a couple of hours). The humidity and temp at any stage are whatever they are, I got sick of fighting against the world around me.

I cut off any large fan leaves and hang the whole plant. I use an Inkbird humidity control with my humidifier to keep it as close to 60% as possible. Temps are what they are. Small fan on the floor blowing as slow as possible and never on the plants. 10-14 days then I buck/trim and put in grove bags

For me it really depends; Generally the first thing done is Blue Cheese, and I use my Jeweler's Eye to check the resin coloration, and decide on which branches of which plants are getting chopped first, and then I cut those off, trim them, hang them, and then I feel them to see how far they are in terms of "dry enough". Once they have reached a level of dry enough, I stick them in Jars, and then cure them. I generally continue burping the jars even after they're done as I've had plenty of jars end up getting wet all over again, so I keep checking them after a few months just to make sure they aren't going to end up moldy, and once they're actually dry enough again, I put them aside for the rest.

As that is happening, other strains start getting ready to be pulled too, and depending on which strain it is, I either chop and hang branches (we use those hangers that have about 10 clips on them so they can hold 10 branches each) and if it's Motor Breath or Hawaiian Sunshine, some of those branches get hung up while they still have sugar leaves on them and just the shade leaves are taken off, as both of those strains are too sticky to trim wet, so I wait to do that until they're dry a bit. Once they're trimmed dry, the buds can be checked too to see if they're ready to be cured, or if they need to hang longer for that.

If I've got time, I do it branch by branch so that each branch is as close to the color I want, but sometimes that's not really feasible because I end up with multiple hangers of branches of different strains with little notes of what each strain is on them so they don't get mixed up, and any buds that are snipped off from trimming generally end up in the "House Blend" jar depending on if I know which branch it came from LOL.

This year we did have Grove Bags, so some of the plants went in those, and then Chem D and most of the Blue Cheese went to jars only.

I chop when the plant reaches the maturity I’m after, (the high) I hang the whole plant upside down in the furnace room. I worry very little about temp/humidity, it dries the weed. When it feels crispy, yes crispy. Branch by branch I trim some and jar it, bong a good tray full. Burp the jars the first week or so, and try to remember what strain and all that. A good cure for me is 2-3 months for primo stuff but, I admit I’m not a person that saves for later. I like to smoke till the tray is empty.

I like to fully trim the buds and leave them on the branch to dry 7-10 days and then into jars for the burping. I also use a bowl trimmer on everything that doesn't make the cut, for extract or edibles. Whatever isn't consumed by me is consumed by my worms. I like my weed on the fresh side and so after a month it's gonna burn!

I hang the whole plants for 10-14 days. I only remove Xl fan leaves that aren't touching buds. I've started to leave some of my personal buds untrimmed on the stems/stalks. I find it relaxing to trim while smoking & i enjoy looking at the natural buds/ structure. The stem keeps the bud moist & I think it adds deep flavor. The 1lb Grove bags work great for this.

I have been trimming the buds when ready and mature...set the buds on a drying rack net...when they feel crispy they hit the jars... usually moisten back up and I continue burping....Anyone reckon I'm losing anything not hanging the plant? Overall Potential flavor or potentcy by not doing so?...also by accident I sat a plant in a closet after maturity (planned to trim the following day). Forgot about it..two weeks later there she was all dried out and looked like it was dipped in sugar..Look so much better (bag appeal wise) than the same plants I previously trimmed...Think may try that again and try hanging some ...My method has worked well for years....dunno maybe I'm missing something... Thanks for all the input

Pretty much personal preference IMO. I cull rather ruthlessly so a bowl trimmer take away most of my work. For what I intend to smoke, I leave the trimmed buds on the branch. I feel the slower dry saves some flavor and terps.

Harvest when the trichs are right......ignore the calendar :)
then
1) 2 days in the dark
2) Break the plant down, remove all the fan leaves, leave anything with sugar
3) Wash the plant
4) hang for 10 -14 days...I don't care about time here, my goal is to jar the weed in the low 70's....it's always different timewise, I go by feel
5) Finish Trim and put in Jars... Burp jars occasionally for 2 weeks and then again after 2 weeks more.......then leave the lid on, it will only get better

Once you burp down to your RH preference throw the appropriate Boveda in there. Once the humidity pack is in, leave that jar shut for a month.....when you open it your patience will be rewarded.

* From the first time they go in the jars, the weed needs to be continually drying...a constant gradient that goes down. If you put it in the jar too wet.........it's humidity level goes up, then you are burrping repeatedly and that will turn your weed to hay the fastest.
