Hawaiian Sunshine

OK, so I have Hawaiian Sunshine that I did this year, and trying to find info about this strain is proving difficult to say the least. What I know about this strain is basically, about two years ago, my Fiance and I were helping a friend trim at his other friend's place, and he had a bunch of different strains growing, and we got ounces for payment, which seems pretty standard, and one of the strains we got was the one in question, and in that ounce was ONE Seed. I sprouted the seed this year, and thank God it ended up being a female! I let my soon to be Father in Law have a few clones off it, and I grew the mother plant out and let it flower, and then pulled it once I felt it was ready, I pulled it.

I personally feel like it's probably either a Sativa, or a Sativa Dominant, as the flower time was pretty long, but I really don't know.... I know Hawaii has Sativa strains, and I know Sunshine is a Sativa Dominant Hybrid, but I'm really not sure if those are the parents or not.

The strain has some of the stickiest hard to grind up flowers I've ever had.... And I have Motor Breath and Chem D, both of which normally go through scissors quicker than I'd thought possible really; We use those hangers that have 10 little clamps on them, so you can hang 10 branches at a time on one hanger, and I'm not even kidding when I say this; If I didn't have Rubber Gloves on when I grabbed the 10 branches, I would legit have finger hash all over my hands, and in terms of trimming this strain, we had to have a container of rubbing alcohol to soak scissors in ready to go with extra scissors because after trimming maybe 10 buds, they'd be gummed up to the point of not working. I've had a lot of different strains that are sticky, and as I've said, I consider Motor Breath and Chem D to be fairly gummy with Resin, but this stuff was on another level. My soon to be Father in law went in the Greenhouse where I had it growing, and he bumped into the plant and all his arm hair got spiked like an 80s school picture.

The Scent is VERY Fragrant with a mix of like generic Fruit smells, and almost floral smells, and I've noticed as it cures in the jars, a few of the jars started having a slight Earthy / Mushroom sort of smell to them, but just in the background of the intense Fruity / Floral aroma. My Fiance says there is a sort of Pepper smell to it, which I can agree with too, as it DOES have a very Peppery sort of sweetness to it too, like if you've ever eaten a Habenero Pepper, you know that it has heat, but also a very sweet taste as well, and this seems like a description that fits too as I'm guessing there's a decent dose of Caryophyllene in this plant to explain the Pepper like nose tingle.

The Flavor is a LOT like the smell; VERY pleasant and Fruity, with a nose tingle on the exhale as I've said, and when I had some friends try some out, they all seemed to like it.

I've tried looking up the strain online of course to see what the Parents of this strain are, and I haven't found anything so far. I have been told there's a chance that it was locally done here in Michigan, but I'm really not sure.

I do know I'll be sprouting the Seeds I've gotten so far so I can get another Female next year for our grow next year, and stocking up on scissors because it's a bitch to trim..... And I've had to trim "Gorilla Fuck" before, which is a nightmare with the shape of the nodes and leaves, and this stuff is so sticky you have to switch out scissors and gloves the entire time.

Has ANYONE around here ever heard of this strain? Or know any info about Parental Lineage and Terpenes ? I'm guessing the Caryophyllene part based on nose tingle and pungent smells, but I'd love to find out some info about it. I have I think 4 Seeds so far that look like they're going to be good for sprouting next year's crop of it, but I'd love to know more.

Maybe that could be it. I have tried a few times to come up with a way describing the smell and flavor, because it has such a sweet yet pungent aroma that..... I mean normally if a strain is REALLY sweet and floral, the Pungent part goes missing, but the nose tingle is unmistakable and is what you'd expect from a very Caryophyllene forward strain, but with that mesmerizing sweet floral forward scent AND taste..... Very interesting to say the least.

I know a lot of people here are more than just growers, and some have jobs in the industry, maybe next year I'll have more seeds and be able to send some out ? I currently have gotten about 4 Seeds that are dark colored and should be good for sprouting, and like I said; We only had ONE seed of it, and thank God it was female! Everyone has loved the smell and taste that I've let try it even though it is no where NEAR done Curing, but I also let it go for a WHILE. The Resin color was getting some Amber tips on it before I pulled it, and I'm glad I did because that seems to help insure that the Seeds in the plant, will most likely all be brown and not white seeds that won't sprout anyway.

The plant itself grew like a MOFO too..... Last year I was visiting a friend and he had a Blue Cheese plant he grew sideways, and it seemed to make all the side branches into tops, and I thought "Hey that's interesting!" so this year in spring when I started sprouting Seeds, I got them all going, and then I had an offer to stick a plant in the Greenhouse, so I decided that since it gets hotter than shit in there, I'd put what I felt was most likely a Sativa plant in there as the climate a Sativa comes from is a bit warmer than an Indica based plant, so I did that, and remembering the way that guy had done Blue Cheese, I thought I'd experiment with this one and do it.

When the plant was put in the ground, it was put in at an angle, and then I cut ALL the branches off that were facing the dirt, and to my surprise it also had the effect of turning into a monster that branched out like I've never seen.... The branches went everywhere, and I have some pictures too I can show, and you'll see what I mean; Plant was massive, and branches were everywhere which was annoying really because I'd rather have less branches and bigger buds than a shit load of branches and smaller buds, which is why I don't like topping my plants, but here are some pictures of the plant:

When I took these pictures, I was trying to show the odd way it ended up looking, and you can see the mesh that we ended up using for support, but at first when it was planted in there, I didn't use that; I used some green sticks we have and every day or 3 days, I'd go in there, and as the plant grew sideways it would of course start growing "up" again, and I'd move the sticks, and put one on each side of the very top cola, pulling it back down, which, after a few hours of Sunlight, it would be growing back "up" again, so I slowly did that all the way across the one side of the Greenhouse, and I'm not kidding when I say this thing was getting Resin on it and even the stems were covered.

I may have more pictures I can post, but that's the idea there.

Definitely sativa. She is a beauty, and a beast!
That's how I felt too; I have heard outside throw that Indica and Sativa word around a lot, but I based my calling it that on the time it took it to finish up and the name and look it had.

The branches you can see near the top of the greenhouse are the side branches, and after it was sideways they all grew straight up like that.

Like I said if I can get a decent amount of Seeds, I can possibly send some and see how that goes.

Yeah it took a while to finish and then I gave it extra time on top to get some Amber color in it. Smells great though!
