Hello to Phenohunter.org!

I meant the amount of time of veg...hrs used and point of initiating flower, length of flower. Sorry, I was vague.

Just asking as Black Widow used to be a thing of mine...I did grows for Shanti using different methods and varying time schedules...I even did a few times, 12 12 a week after seed pop...10-12-14 wks on some...some going down to 14 10 to finish them...sometimes going 13 11 and 14 10 from flower initiation.
That was a long time ago...15 - 20 yrs ago.
Always still interested in her, but probably won't grow it again...just moving on.
She is a fun plant to play with.
Wish I had know about super cropping back then...lol ...I was trying her down like a vine that kept growing to the light.
I didn't take very good records being new. It stayed in veg for a long time because I have a low plant count limit and had things ahead of it. I topped it at around 30 days and LSTed the hell out of it. When I discovered it was a male I almost tossed it. Instead I moved it to a room that had some ambient lighting and covered it to keep its day length to 12 hours. When it started dropping pollen I cut it and stuck it upside down in a baggie to dry. Then I used it to pollinate a Chick Magnet for no good reason except that I liked that strain and wanted to play with chucking pollen.

Welcome @Rasterman !

Maybe you can give us a peek at that landrace action sooner rather than later....?
I can't get enough of seeing these treasures!!
@UncleB, I thought about it, and you're right. I've gotten a lot of help from sites like this one, and I shouldn't worry about being upstaged by someone who can grow more plants. So I'll log my journey from the very beginning and will reveal the strain on day 1.

Keep in mind that I can't start until late June or even July and I hope you can follow in my journey.

Looking forward to it. We all learn from each other, and I have yet to witness any malicious intellectual poaching take place on the PH....???

Please tag me if I miss the start-up of your journal. Will put it on watch for sure. I have a couple of landrace/heirlooms that will be test driven outdoors this summer to see how they fare in the AZ heat - with the hopes of eventually coming up with something to share with fellow desert rats that might enjoy a low care plant to nestle amongst their summer tomatoes and such.

I'll be sure to tag you.

A heat and drought - tolerant strain would be welcome. Outdoors growing for me calls for cold tolerance too. Last summer I grew some severely-stunted autos due to nighttime temps. It was my first outdoors grow and nights were unseasonably cold, but still...

Hello everyone. I've been growing for about a year and a half and am finally feeling like I know what I'm doing. I have started a couple of projects, and found the site while looking for knowledge about pheno-hunting.

One project involves a landrace - I have 9 seeds from a promising and rare ibl and am going to wait to blog that quest until I'm in the third generation and have something to show because I hope to make some money on it.

The other project is a pollen-chucking experiment. I had a male Black Widow when I needed pollen to make seeds from a chick magnet I was growing. This is just play but I'm an optimistic person. I hope to breed its progeny back to something approximating chick magnet regular seeds, but am also hoping to find something unique. I'm growing out 15 F1s right now, and just started flowering a promising female that I kept a clone from.

Because I travel once a year and have nobody I trust to take care of my ladies, I'm scheduling harvests around that long trip.

I'm also experimenting with cuttings. My hope is that I can keep cuttings alive for three weeks without care in a quart jar. That would let me shut down my grow op every year for three weeks and start up again without losing anything.

I've been doing most of my blogging on AFN, but because I grow more photos I think I'll start doing photo blogging here.

Oh yeah, and I reversed some Double Grape a few months ago and have a lifetime of seeds from that effort.
WELCOME!
