Finally got some cool nights !
There is no sun in my backyard. I have pretty much given up with growing Outdoors.

So if you're ever in space, you can look down and see my house. The white dot, in the photo , is my backyard . I know exactly the date this photo was taken. I can see the zoom boom positioned to the back of my house. There are new shingles; so I know this is the day my son finished our roof.
So how big is that Elm tree? We needed both driveways for equipment, so I had to shuffle all of the vehicles into my backyard and the neighbors backyard.
The measurement dots are the East West diameter of the tree .
In this photo, North of the two dots, I have parked:
- Ford Thunderbird SC
- Mercury Park Lane
- GMC Envoy
- Mazda XL utility trailer
-17 ft Scamping trailer
Three of those vehicles are white, and I can't see any of them.
,,, They gone !
Couple of days ago
Dead calm, dead heat, dead of night; that Elm tree dropped a branch into the neighbor's yard. The tree is planted on our common property line and that Branch fell across his 40 ft lot , and 8 ft into his neighbor's lot. I have done the math a couple of times, and I think that tree has a 70 ft diameter.
Anywho, I am sitting out in the garage it is 33 Celsius at 1:00 a.m.. I could hear crackling in the tree, and I figured if I got out there with a flashlight I could see some raccoon action.
I am a few steps out of the garage and that monster starts popping off.
The moment that I realized what was happening was the same instant that I realized I was dead. I bolted back to the garage so quick I ended up tearing my thigh. It's been a few days and I'm still kinda limping around.
Good times.
Like I said, I gave up on outdoor growing. I knew there was a bit of heat still left in the summer but my seedlings were stressing and stretching it was do or die time. I plugged in the 400 watt metal halide and I have been running that 24/7. I peak up to 34 Celsius sometimes, but at least they are starting to put on leaves.
