In all my time learning to build, while exploring horticulture LED tech, across the vast expanses of the interwebs, from the early Gromau5 "Noobs" tutorial videos, to any and every forum thread anywhere....I have not seen one single post showing regret for buying an HLG product. Ever.
Not one time.

New models !

revolutionary design has been created specifically for high PPFD cultivation in vertical farming or low ceiling grow operations. With 650W of power and 5 bars of Full Spectrum White with Deep Red LEDs, this lamp provides a comprehensive range of light that can enhance plant growth and maximize yields.

The HLG Tomahawk 650 boasts convenient features such as dimming capabilities, ultra-lightweight construction, and easy installation with a remote mountable driver. The integrated asymmetrical reflectors increase photon delivery resulting in higher quality yields even at lower levels of the canopy while minimizing hot spots. This improved open design allows for unobstructed airflow for more efficient ventilation, making it an ideal choice for vertical rack and tent grows. This lamp produces over 1859 PPF output with photon efficacy of 2.81 µmol/joule.”

Soooooo, I ordered another 600rspec from these guys, cause, I like my first one. I should mention, refurbished. Not that it really matters, just a little. So, I place the order, get the reciept, tracking says label created yadda yadda yadda.

So a few days go by and nothing has changed. I figure whatever, I've had packages both ship and arrive without ever seeing a scan move so not a huge deal. a few more go by so I email and see whats up.

Turns out they printed it and had misplaced it or something, and in that time, had run out of stock of the refurbished 600rspec I had ordered. They got back to me within the hour (or maybe within the hour of business opening? Cant quite remember but I was impressed) and immedietly apologized and offered to send out the 650r spec. I say wow gee golly thank you mister, and they get it out of the shop that afternoon. It arrived a couple days later, and is now hanging next to the 600 in the 4x8. Lmao, a little bit too powerful, but thankfully she dims down a bit. Underneath her I got Midsicle x TK, and Bubs Dogbud x Midsicle. Will update if it is signifigantly different than the 600 but I suspect it wont be too terribly different.

might be double posting this, cant recall. but their customer support is, quite literally, the best i've ever encountered in grow equipment. i've worked in 3 grow supply stores, and ran HLG lights for the last 5 years easily. i still have an original HLG300 v.1, which blew its driver mid run (attributed to solar power wiring in house) a few years back. HLG had a driver at my doorstep in 3 days, and the most impressive part, free. It's about $100 or so to buy ftr.

I've been on and off again with grabbing an HLG light. I know they're the best but everytime I am ready to pull the trigger they are out of stock or have changed something to new and better. Usually it's a bit more pricey everytime I look. Lately, over the past year or so the strength of there lights have pushed up to a point that a 5x5 area is common ground now.

My latest build out was originally designed for 4x4 tent setup since they were more of a standard size the last few years. My hurdle with HLG is I'm not sure which new model is right for a 4x4 tent? I'd rather not buy something and have to run it dimmed.

I do see the have some mar specifically covering 2x4. Which works if you buy two but I can't help wonder if that's creative marketing or a hardware issue.

I have a 2x4 i'd love to run one of those in. probably a bigger demand for smaller, more powerful lights as hobby growing takes off

I had an XL260 in a closet that was about 2x7 and a 250 regular size (not HLG) LED next to it. Putting 2 of those XL260s in a 4x4 would rock, imho.
