How Long Would You Have to Live to Grow Out Your Vault?

How many seeds do you pop in a year? Divide your collection by that number to approximate how long it would take to grow them all.

I just did a quick calculation, and not counting current projects, I would need to live another 72 years at my normal rate. Given I'm well into my second half century already, I think I might not reach the finish line.

I'm thinking some of y'all would need the lifespan of a redwood tree, given your collections.

Just added a few more packs from glg yesterday... My collection isn't huge but probably more than I will ever grow.. I have cut way back though definitely not doing as much as I used to .. it would be even bigger if I've taken all the seeds that have been offered to me from kind peeps here and elsewhere.. just to let them peeps know it's not because I don't want them lol...

A year ago, at 5-10 a year I could have had them gone in about 2-3 years. After a loose mental calculation I would say the various boxes and envelopes that have been sent to me from members of the best board ever, it's more like about 40 now. Plus, just in the last couple months I've asked for beans of a couple plants I really admired and I think those more than offset what I popped this year. So I guess it's just going to keep going up. I'll have to bequeath beans lol.

Well, I assume you mean at current rate or with current space.
I'm waiting on approval for a legal grow liscence. If that happens, all bets are off... I'll start 1000 seeds no joke. Well space dependant of course. I'm very concerned about making enough money to cover overhead tho, so it may be clones for awhile to get established. Black market is 100 an oz here ... I ran the numbers on a small op and it doesn't look great.
Anyways. At my current rate, I'd say I could pop ten seeds of each strain I have interest in from my collection a few years or so. I run alot of very small plants. Now if you include everything, probably 10-15 years.

Probably 25 years. Unfortunately, that will put me at 80 YO. I'm certain that I, similar to @Captain Sternn, down the line, they will be inherited by a lucky person, or if I see it coming, perhaps a killer contest giveaway!
Now, what about all the extracts, oils, hash, edibles, RSO and CBD that I have put up. A serious stoner would not need to buy or grow anything for 2-3 years. What can I say, I'm a weed prepper!

Quite the question posed and quite a quandary to answer....
1. last year I had several lifetimes worth over here. In apeil I had not even a years worth. Now I'm smiling as the sun kisses my forehead knowing I could have a great lifetimes worth at any moment. Or I could be in a cell watching the wrong weed grow for a long time.

2. Depending on where we are on the mortal plane of existence varies greatly on how much one would have to see them through. Africa Asia absolute fields of dreams. Many parts of th states look that way too. Hence quite the quandary to answer succinctly. Yet after reading back through, it wasn't succinctly and some many think superfluosly, almost ramblings of an incoherent convict haha

Plus making many many more seeds along the way .I have a couple youngsters lined up to be set for life with beans..The way I store them I'm sure they will be viable for many years to come

50 a go. 3x yearly.

Haven't store bought for 3 years or so.

Trouble is, every time I run a crop, I have more seeds than when I started.

Finally found some envelopes; been tryna organize.

This is awesome! My dad and i grow together & we share genetics all the time. ... I asked him once "don't you have a stash of old seeds or anything?" --he said he didn't really keep seeds because it was illegal, he had legal firearms & was raising us kids etc, but I almost died laughing when he said "i found a baggie of seeds in the garage I'm guessing were yours? ... but I threw them away" lol, they were almost surely Mexi brick seeds or some similar schwag

Crazy to think about. I'll never grow even half of what I have. Have really old seed from my deceased dad, all the way through shucking seeds today. I do around 100 a year give or take, and I always make more than I start with. I've already taken a couple hundred out of the two plants that got seeded outside and I've barely gotten into them. Pretty sure the rest of the crop is sensi. Also, I have a couple tent's working with cuts from outside to make more seeds from the plants that I enjoyed growing and smelling.

My bag of stuff I want to grow next is way too big, I'll have to narrow down for sure.

On top of all that, I'm still a sucker for buying seeds. Have a couple packs in the mail right now, lol.

I f'in love it though, so it's alright.

What a great thread. I have tens of thousands of seeds like most here. I often think about walking around the woods up here in the spring and tossing seeds everywhere. I might do that at some point. Kinda like Johnny Appleseed but with danky dank
