Bro says I topped too early and my plants aren't gonna be tall like his. We'll see after stretch . We put all of mine except two Deep Congo's on flood trays for height. The automated watering is making this too easy for so many plants. I retooled the whole system when the plants got spread out and all eight lights were on.

There's more to say and show but will have to wait until tonight. I AM SLAMMED with regular work (not complaining) and no time to journal. We're looking good though!
Unreal man ? love seeing that kind of size . I can appreciate it just on labor alone ?

The little sprouts that got exposed are begging for light and airflow! I need yall's professional opinion on how much of this inner bush needs to be cut out. I'm taking clones this weekend and want to go ahead and clean these girls up...

These Slymers are the most branchy of the plants and I obviously want to maximize yield. They're pretty much the same height and structure. A couple plants have slightly fatter leaves than others but pretty uniform. Also, being S1's, do I need to keep cuts from every one of the ten? I have twenty different plants from seed and would be just fine if I didn't have to manage all those Slymer cuts. How much variation in the end product when using S1's?

My hands were literally stuck together after working the Slymer tray. Incredibly sticky without even one flower! Smells not as strong or exciting as FDM's Cindy or a couple of the Congo's. One AK is pretty loud too.

On the cleaning up question... I'm all ears cuz I didn't expect such bushes from all these plants. They aren't tall so I don't want to remove more than I should and be kicking myself later. But I also don't leave stuff that won't bulk out. Help Please?

I've not noticed much drift from the original Cut in these Slymer S1's myself.
As far as yield, they are just not great yielders.
I think training is personal to your set up & preference. I personally clean up the bottom 1/3, but I do that to all grows.
I am also a believer in using Silica to strengthen stemy plants in veg & also try to limit stretch.
I've grown out some very Slymer leaning Meltdown phenos that have bumped up the yield, but yield is not what Im after.
Sorry Im not much help here...lol

Thanks for the chime Bob. I know this line doesn't yield a ton, which is why I want to make the most of what I've got going. The uniformity is ridiculous except for the one gal with the lightning streak yellow variegation going on (ever seen that before Bob?). How do these babies do outside in NorCal?

Speaking of outside... when does everyone intend to set plants outside this year? Just curious...

I've not seen the leaf coloring in any of the S1's I've grown out, I have seen it in other strains.
I'm all indoors & in so cal so I'm not sure, though a friend in nor cal told me that the Meltdown was the #1 seller in the few dispensaries she supplied for a few years.

So I'll be removing the bottom third "branchlets". When I topped all these plants I did it the same exact way... "after" the fourth true node, thinking I was topping for eight arms total. My question is... should I trim out anything that was not a part of the eight original arms that I wanted? These things HAVE NOT STRETCHED much at all in the first week of flower that ends tonight.

What's up Dan, fellow 916er here!? Sweet looking garden!! I'd say yes on trimming out anything that wasn't a part of the original eight arms you were shooting for. Indoors, you want all that energy focused towards the tops...not wasting it on tiny shoots and popcorn nugs that won't amount to anything but larf. They don't get full coverage inside like they do from the sun outside. So, the thinning out of the lowers is almost a must in most cases. Hope this helps?

This is like an episode from "It Takes a Homey" ?... that's precisely the confirmation I was needing. Thanks MO, and good to know I'm not all alone out here.

Hey Dan, love the garden. The thought of harvest day , for you, was mind boggling. However, I see you ain't scared of a little work. Nice grow.
Thanks Trial. I gotta reiterate though... ONLY TWENTY PLANTS IN THIS ROOM ARE MINE: two 4x4's holding eighteen 3g's plus my two tallest D-Con's (Deep Congo) are on the floor "with" my Bro's production plants. I hope to have production plants as well someday hence the hunt. Me and a close friend been wanting the C99 in the worst way and I do believe I got the right one, Fleur du Mal FTW! My hands smell like Tropical Crude Oil after pruning one of them. An AK47 f2 reeks as well, and they're known to require TWO charcoal scrubbers, which I have ?.

Ought to have nuggetry soon enough. Today is day eight of flower and cuts are coming off this PM. We'll see what kind of legs these girls got!
