I have the p. auricoma (or at least fits its criteria) :) in one of my mulched ornamental beds also....
The early summer and wood chips is a big one lol. Around same time as last year. But there was a lot more of them. I split wood a lot in fall and winter. Was wanting to put horse manure and straw over the area. See what I can get to pop lol

Ya I haven't seen a mushroom around here with that vivid of a color. There was a group of 3. More I looked more I found them. I left a group open and gotta head back and get the rest of my things and was going to see what it looks like now.

Last couple days the woods have been a mushroom kingdom. Bunches of boletus, aswell as a bunch I havnt seen before.

From what I have read if it is a scarlet cup they are edible but so small they are of 0 interest. I'm not saying they are scarlet cups but what I have came up with. I'm not eating any of them....yet lol...well the morels are eaten but them are easy to id.
