Looks very similar to the weeping widow mushroom.

I’d agree. The veil almost looked like mycelium, but the cob went description also fits

I've had mushroom fever. Been in the woods a couple hours everyday. My new favorite so far the clitocybe odora. Mild anise smell but oddly the stipe did bruise. Older ones lose there color.

Peeped these the other day while working. Not sure what the called though.

Unfortunately drove by yesterday and some dickhead, probably a little dickhead kid like I used to be, kicked them all over and broke them.

Edit: Google saying its a fly algar or jewelled amanita? Sound right? Edible?

I agree with @Idlewilder , not edible. Kinda looks similar to Amanita flavoconia, or the American yellow dust amanita.

They look like amanita muscaria var. guessowii. Not technically edible, but they do contain ibotenic acid, which can be decarboxylated into muscimol.

In my teens my buddy and I chopped some up and made a ramen mushroom stew. We both ended up puking it up and not tripping much at all, probably because we had failed to decarb them properly.

There are some poisonous lookalikes that you have to watch out for, so I'd be extra careful if you ever plan on hunting for these.

Just hunting pics. Besides morals or chicken of the woods I'm nervous about my ability to correctly identify any mushroom. So I just watch them grow.
