I need to swap light cycles from day to night

I need to more or less immediately swap my current 18-6 (with the 6 off being at night) light cycle with a few plants in veg. Still too F'n hot during the day! Need to make day night.
I guess the big question is a long stretch of light or a long stretch of dark to get flip-flopped? Or does it even matter?
Ive done it in the past over days but now I kinda need it done immediately
So what is recommended?

I've never had this issue but would think light for an extra 6 or more hours won't hurt a thing. Actually I don't think either way would hurt but I'd error on the side of extra light especially during vegg? but I'm certainly no expert on the subject.

If im in veg I go longer light, if im in flower I go longer dark. My philosophy has always just been to avoid the triggers that cause the plants to change phases.

as a suggestion Run 17on/7off hr’s

run ur room at night, off in day, for example my off time is 11am-back on at 6pm , reason = hottest part of day so this reduces chances in winter of too warm, in summer It’s hottest part of day and my electric company charges in summer-fall 2x rate for 11am-6pm ( check ur rates and times , u would be surprised )

reason why I endorse 17/7 vs 18/6 is in one month ur saving In power of room almost 2 days in full. like harvesy smith from npk and many Dutch explained there’s no proof that extra hr will help ya if anything do u like to crack out and get less sleep? plants need their ? too

to keep ur temps at bay have a intake of fresh air on Duct + inline fan + temp on/off controller =I set mine at 82f and when it hits that the fresh air connected to hepa will bring it in till it’s under that temp. i just have it on last two he’s before shut off that the temp controller on/off ( on a timer) because I want the room to be slightly warmer before lights off so that whole 7hrs it can stay above 10 degrees of on cycle. 70-72f at lowest

Amazon product

electric heaters and playing that sort will really hurt ur over all cost but also un needed. If you have proper dehumidifiers also that will produce you your heat for night time, if your having heat issues with too much have ur deh in lung room and try to vent the heat outlet out. just saying if ur air at night is below 75f ur set and i would pump that in vs having hvac and all that at small scale growing.

I don't think it matters at all....just do it. You are in veg and neither the small amount of extra dark or light time will have any effect.

What I meant is all electric companies have dif policies and rates and mine they change the rates in spring-fall for 11am-6pm to be 2x the “weekend/nighttime/winter rate” and winter rate is all time and cheaper
The electric co's have some bent ideas on prime time too. If they charge different rates.peak or off peak..figure that out and light accordingly. It's not too grower friendly a schedule as I recall.
