Inferno Mike's Fantasy Phenotype Festival

I have a couple gardens; One is at a remote location in a basement, one is at home. The basement is for production, the home grow is for experimentation. I mostly do pheno hunts and breeding projects at home, and that's usually where I get pictures. I had about 6 months where neither one was really rolling, 2020 y'know, and I'm just getting started again now.

I'm putting this here as a placeholder, more plant pr0n coming soon.

[Below is a re-post from RIU Chucker's Paradise thread]

700 watts of LED in a 4x4 tent, 120 watts of UV, 100 watts of cheap Home Despot side lighting, 480 watts of quantum board RSpec diy knockoffs.

Back left clockwise; a Dynasty freebie keeper, Cookies n Chem F2 chuck, Eso’s Twinkle Tarts (showing a bit of leftover nutrient shock, my fault) and my Greenpoint OBS keeper is the runt clone in front left that’ll probably take over the whole tent.

Coco, perlite, diy nutes and gravity-fed Blumats (not hooked up yet in pic) garden.jpg
These pics were from December 12, looking a bit shocked from transplant and a previous high EC event. They are looking much better today but the lights are off, I already flipped them.

I also have some new gear popped in the small tent: My own cross I'm calling Panther Muffin [Cookies n Cream x Stardawg] x [Animal Cookies x Tropicana Cookies], a couple old Dank Commander seedlings from Rare Dankness, and four Welchie from Eso's Seeds.

Cheers, y'all, post whatever you want, I'm an open book.

Thanks, I haven't done one in a long while. I wish I had some stuff in flower to share, I just don't. Shit's gonna get real in a hurry, though. I like it here already, thanks for the warm welcome, I wish all you cats the best with this community.
Thanks for sharing man... I like the idea of T8's on the sides instead of full blown LED...

Hows your airflow in there with the tower fan hung vertically like that?

Those look like T8's but they are 50 watt LED from Home Depot, about 120lm/w I think I paid $60 a piece for them. Good little veg lights and I wasn't using them so I threw them on the sides. I still really like T5 HO fixtures for veg, but replacing bulbs every year sucks, so I've gone 100% LED, even if some of them aren't at the tip top of efficiency.

I have pretty good luck with hanging those cheap tower fans from Target, but eventually the oscillator motor stops working and they have to be replaced. I like to keep the air moving.

Thanks for noticing some details of my diy ghetto ways.

Very cool . Love me some tower fan myself ?

Having lots of small fans is very fault tolerant.

My biggest issue with little fans has been blade slip. Well the entire hub, actually.

There's an easy fix if you've got a dremel...

Looking forward to seeing the show. Those all sound delicious! I’m a fan of the blumats as well.
Hell yeah! Blumats are great for small setups, I don't think they scale up for bigger ops, but I love them.

I haven't used mine in a while, I tend to experiment a lot, was in DWC for most of the last 2 years. Seems to me like Blumats can produce similar growth rates, not quite as fast as DWC, but pretty close.

I've been considering blumats but I'd be looking at using them for about 36 plants at a time. Curious why you don't think they scale up well? The number of plants is part of why I've held off on that investment so far

I was gonna do a cookies and chem f2 project, but got all fems. Same thing happened a few months ago when I couldn't f2 Ripped Bubbas because of 100% fems. It's so odd to be rooting for males. I digress.

I kept 2 cnc clones, then decided I liked #3 after smoking them. It's on it's 3rd run for buds, the only drawback is it's long to finish and a light to moderate yield, so it'll be the last run. Real good smoke; I see why it's so popular.

I use them with a gravity fed reservoir, so the height of the resrvoir relative to the sensor limits the length of your tubing run. If you used a pressurized system (low pressure adapters are available) then you could plumb them in and skip the gravity fed limitations. The dripper tubes need to be unclogged occasionally when biofilm builds up inside them, just pich and roll each tube between your fingers and ensure flow is happening, that could be a pain in the butt. If you don't do it monthly you can get floods because the sensor doesn't close like it is supposed to, could suck if you're not prepared for it. It happens rarely now that I make a habit of squeezing the goo out of the dripper tubes once a month, but I'm sure it will happen again at some point. The "sensor" carrots and parts have always been sort of expensive, so purchase price is a factor. I feel like you're right on the upper end of where they might still be a great system for you, but if you had 4 times that many plants they could be more trouble than they are worth.

I knew you were working on some CnC F2s as well, sorry it didn't work out. If you want a pack for breeding stock or just for the vault, they're yours. I'd have to dig for pics of the keeper CnC female I had but she was a pretty decent yielder, my favorite of three I ran as well. The smoke is great, very creamy chem and cookies flavors and it packs a wallop! I'm planning on taking these to F5, maybe F8, as an inbred line to see if I can emphasize all those qualities.

I also used that male to knock up an Animal Cookies x Tropicana Cookies female I liked. Colorful, fruity, rock hard nugs, but not a huge yielder. I just popped some those to test grow them myself, not getting great germ rates after three tests, but I have high hopes for the genes.

I run blumats blusoak tape in my 400 sqft outdoor veggie garden. On carrots for control. 11x 4'x8' raised beds. I use individual carrots on all my deck plants as well, using 1 carrot and 5 drippers to water 5 pots. Same soil, size, and sun exposure. Assorted herbs, leafy greens, or peppers. This is of course hooked up to a pressurized municipal system ran through dual filters for chloramines.

That was a great answer with great tips that I do as well. I haven’t had clog problems but try to squeeze the dripper ends every once in awhile like you mentioned. I’ve bought 3 patio sets so I do have 36. Depending on size of your plants I wouldn’t want more than 12 drippers on a res. I would recommend a couple separate smaller res. in case there is a problem if you have room. Once dialed in they are a savior if all your plants are happy with the same nutes.
