The Jacks 321 recipe has become one of the most popular nutrient regiments over the last few years. Lots of thanks to GreenGene for his Youtube video released in May 2018 where he discusses everything related to 321.

If you're not familiar with it, Jacks 321 is a three part dry powder nutrient recipe. It combines Jacks 5-12-26, Calcium Nitrate, and Epsom Salt in a 3-2-1 ratio to achieve an elemental breakdown of 728.286 PPM when used at full strength.

Here's the breakdown:
142.6 Nitrogen (N)
49.8 Phosphorus (P)
205.3 Potassium (K)
93.1 Magnesium (Mg)
114 Calcium (Ca)
119.3 Sulfur (S)
2.863 Iron (Fe)
0.143 Zinc (Zn)
0.476 Boron (B)
0.143 Copper (Cu)
0.085 Molybdenum (Mo)
0.476 Manganese (Mn)
0.000 Silica (S)
0.000 Sodium (Na)
0.000 Chloride (Ci)
728.286 Total
Hey @ricky_simples just wanted to get your thoughts on something. My filtered tap water is just under a 100 ppm. If i mix at the standard measures that would put me at 838 ppms at full strength. Should i concern myself with that or should i try and compensate for the 100 ppm when mixing? Also @Texagonian or @Gweedo's Growroom any thoughts would be welcome.

I run my upper limit at about 900 but that's including my tap, it varies from 105 to 120 ppm so I'm actually closer to about 750ppm of actual nutes
Cool that is very close to my tap. Seems like in the past i would start to risk burning the tips at over 8-900 ppms but was more than likely to much of something in the mix. Really excited about using jacks after watching greens grow( or whatever his name is) video on u tube.

If I were using 100 PPM tap with Jacks instead the RO I'm using now, I wouldn't do anything differently. That's pretty clean water.

Jacks 321 switch up was very easy. I am using volume mixing it is much easier than weight. Switched right at flip and have only used Recharge as the only other additive i have used besides the Jacks. I have not used a drop of PH down or Calmag since flipping. With that being said i have not added the silica since the flip and if doing so will most likely need PH down. My tap is around a 100 ppm and with the Jacks full strength comes out at 900 ppm. I would like some input from other Jacks users as to when i should start cutting back on those ppm's or just wait till flush. I am coming up on week 5 and still running full strength with very little if any tip burn.

I’m running full strength and am going to the end that way, up till flush that is. I’m sure you’ll get some more input @Capt. C . I’m loving using jacks. I won’t have to buy nutrients for years based on my scale of growing. Hope you and your family are doing well and staying safe. ??✌?

Since my former go-to, MaxiBloom, has been mostly unavailable and Megacrop is still figuring out their formula, I've been looking for another water soluble powder.

I've been interested in Jack's for a while but couldn't find a source in Canada. I admit I wasn't beating the bushes, but a basic search was unsuccessful. Anyway, through RUI, I learned of a BC store that had it and I made an order for 5kg each of 5-12-26 and Cal-Nit a few days ago. It was under $100 CAD delivered and will provide me with well over a year worth of nutes, likely closer to 2 years.

While I was waiting, I contacted JR Peters in the States and their guy gave me the name of their wholesaler, whose website gave me the name of an authorized dealer. Turns out it's a gardening store not far from me that I visit regularly. Sent them an email and learned I can make an order for the next shipment or get 15 Kg of Jack's 7-11-27 for $80 and 25 Kg Cal NIt for $42 right now.

I was annoyed for about 5 seconds that I didn't wait and save a few bucks, but after looking at it realistically, it isn't a big deal. I can probably do without 100 pounds/5years+ worth of nutes taking up space as well.

Looking forward to dialing in the 321 system once the current MaxiBloom/Megacrop mix I've been using runs out.

Between low cost-high, performance nutrients and off the shelf, screw-in LEDs, top shelf cannabis can be grown these days for next to nothing.
Fuck all the bullshit outside, I'll be in my tent tending to the girls. Let me know when it's safe to come out. :)

Figured I'd update the current state of things, I've moved up to using the 321 as t 3.2-2.2-1.2 seems the leds and a decent vpd will really let the girls eat, I been slacking in keeping the buffet stocked fully lol also went to using the kelp 4 less humic/fulvic/kelp water soluble blend at about 70% of the recommended dosage, hoping this will help uptake without having to up my ppms anymore, I'll get back with results good or bad, it's only been a week so far, at 22 bucks for a pound of the blend and no expiration date I had to swoop it up, the bottled equivalents are far too expensive for what you get

don’t be fearful of the sulphur extra and mag in last 4th week and bloom, I switched from doing 1/2 cup (50 gal) per whole bloom cycle to 3/4 cup (50 gal) when your 3/4 weeks before harvest .

I actually just bought some yesterday, grow green had dank deals on both the 5-12-26 and the calcium nitrate, so I bought a 25# bag of each for about $107 shipped.

This will be my first grow using synthetic nutrients of any kind, so I'm hoping to learn as much as I can on my first run.

I found this online. I am using it for my masterblend tomato because i never liked their ratios.

i always mix 5 gallons at a time and this is going in coco/perlite.
Mix after each addition
10ml pro silicate
7.5ml CalMagic
18mg A (Tomato 4-18-38)
5.6mg Epsom Salts
11mg Cal nit. I mix this in a bit of hot water first or it takes a while.
That comes out at 1100 TDS (water zero)
PH 5.8

Sounds about perfect for coco.

The 3 2 1 for Masterblend Tomato is PERFECT.

Masterblend shows about 12g 6g 12g as the ratio for part A B(Epsom Salts) C (CalNit always mix in a bit of hot water and its EASY). I found that didnt work to my liking.

Now i have this 1/2 tsp purple spoon....so i can find it! and 3 parts A 1 part B and 2 parts C seems to work perfectly.

5ml of Potassoium Silicate, 5ml of camlag and that come out to 850 TDS PH 6.1 from my RO water...I like it a lot...the girls are not burning and seem to be growing well. I will keep it going.

For the price it is about 1/6th the cost of AN i was using before

Joined this page to also share my love for jacks !! I’ve come from NFTG , dabbled in GH , did the Lucas method with flora nova bloom . Good luck with that . Then stumbled upon jacks and just ..YES . It’s a game changer for sure . I’m currently running soil/less I have some in soil some in FFOF some in promix and they all love jacks
I’m feeding the 3-2-1 schedule
Adding
Recharge ,fish shit , 3 bloom teas through out flower
I amend the medium with crab meal and alfalfa meal
I also feed them aloe juice weekly with my feeds in flower . I start clones and seeds at 50% couple feeds while adding big foot michroizea then straight to full strength I have yet to have a lock out or deficiencies since jumping on the jacks train and am on my fourth run with it ! Here’s a pic of some purple crash from greenpoint

Looking forward to being a member to this forum !

Dino Party

💩🔥 💩🔥 💩🔥
I’m using Pro Mix at the moment for moms and have been on just a water feeding. About a week ago, two have developed deficiencies. I was using Megacrop when I did feed, but if the plants were healthy and I give them a half feeding, in a day or two they are sad and missing something. This is ok right now as it will help me to identify and treat issues and I’m just maintaining “health” until my flower room is up and running. At that point, I want to start with a nutrient/feed regimen that is known to work AND then grow my own regimen off that. Leaning towards Jacks or Growth Science. Megacrop is simple, but I think it’s a little too simple. I just built a tea brewer and have some brewing now. I hope this will be good for health maintenance with moms.
Hey man, how promix been going for you? i used that last run, and i'm using it again and I am pretty sure I like it a lot. Do you still? Any tips or tricks you've found for using it? Looking to be switching from mega crop to jacks 321 as well. Thanks!

@Dino Party With the promix just keep it moist it's got that peat hydrophobic thing going pretty hard, I watered mine in with some yucca to help out a bit, and hit me up if you need any info on the Jack's I been running it for a while, #greengenes videos on are really good too, I ran it outside slightly amended with some happy frog all purpose then watered Jack's in at about 600 terpy plants for sure and killer growth rates too, I ran it in 15 gal fabrics and loved it

I've never looked into jacks till just now. $140 for a big ass bundle. Was hoping they had a smaller sample bundle. Thats a bit of change to plunk down and a shit load of fertilizer. Kinda gotta commit to run it for a while at that price point.
