Jars vs Bags

I just opened a jar with some brand new jarred buds and shook it

and stuck my nose in it. That's something special after all these years. I can't do that with these new fangled zips. Maybe for longer storage but I go through a harvest in usually 3 months.

I love my jars and have cured many a bud in these, my favs.

I have to use buckets and large plastic coffee cans in fall but still put my favorite buds in these jars. I'll order some zips but doubt if I'll use them for weed?

My soon to be Father in law ordered a bunch of them, and I'm "cautious" at this point; one bag didn't allow them to really dry right and literally got wet, but once they're "dry enough" they do seem to keep them decent, but for myself personally; Blue Cheese and Chem D are still in jars and I love them myself. I did allow ONE clone of Blue Cheese to be put in a bag, mainly because my Fiance was like "we don't have space for 60 fucking jars on the floor, we can't even feed the fish on that side with them all in the way" so we have 7 one pound bags by a few of the tanks instead of 60 jars.... lol. I put my foot down on Blue Cheese though. Lol.

I think you're correct on the long term storage part though; but I also feel like a really expensive bag isn't capable of doing what an experienced burp and a jar can.

I recently switched from jars to bags. I like the bags for not being breakable or able to see what's inside.
Although right away, I realized the simple act of shaking the jar before opening was an important part of my smoking sessions. I found I really miss the sound of cured nugs hitting the inside of the jar.

And as @Psychobilly said, like most all curing methods, they need to be pretty close to optimal moisture content before sealing up or I'm sure you'll have issues.

Edit: grove bags, as well.

I'll never get away from shaking that jar and sticking my nose in as far as possible? that has become a part of the process and one that I LOVE! I remember the days of 2-3 dozen quart jars and the daily burping. Too much work and that's when I moved to food grade buckets (donut shops usually sell for +/- $1). Cant beat the price or how well they work. Burping 4 or 5 of these is nothing compared to all those quart jars BUT, the tops of my 2 faves of the grow always go into a couple jars, just like now.

With all that long winded bla bla bla I'm going to order the 6.3 x 8.6" the largest I can find on Amazon and give them a try. I figure they'll end up in the kitchen and that's fine.

Whatcha got in the tanks?
The one you can see in that picture has two Goldfish and an Eclipse Catfish from India, above that is an African Cuckoo Catfish which stays pretty small, but the biggest is my Amazonian Red Tail Catfish which is on the other side of the room from those jars.

We have a small tank with a Betta in it and another small one full of snails that every so often there's too many so my Fiance puts a skewer in the tank with a piece of shrimp on it, and once they're piled on that we put it in the Kid's tank with the Oscar and he eats the snails and the shrimp. The Red Tail Catfish is alone though; whatever fits in his mouth doesn't make it out lol. We pet him and hand feed him though, he's not exactly scared of humans, and we have to keep the door shut when the "non fish" cat is in the house; he's already taken a crack at the cat and the cat's head fits in his mouth, so she can't come in there lol.

I kept tropicals from 8 yrs old to 55. Sold my 100 and 180 gallon acrylic tanks almost 10 yrs ago now. I raised Betta's for a decade and created a beautiful green line but it was anglerfish I had my best work. Bought 7 quarter size gold angled and in 5 yrs I was producing black angles with emerald faces. My garage was a fish room with several hundred gallons. I made my own nursery tanks.

Today I've got a plastic half wine barrel

with a few feeder goldfish. I'm over it with the fish and herpes as well. I kept and bred snakes and tree frogs too. Now I'm playing with our favorite plant and have to admit I'm enjoying this a lot more?

Bro that's fucking awesome!!!! My personal interest in fish has been going a long time; I had aquariums from the time I was pretty little, and ended up getting Red Belly Piranhas by the time I was maybe 12 or so, and grew them out, and tried "tried" to have more tank mates with those, but a big Pleco was the only thing that survived really; the Clown Knife Fish end up on the menu, and the Red Devil Cichlid ended up being rehomed because he was aggressive and tried to lock jaw a Piranha... a good chunk of his lower jaw was gone so he had to go. I stopped having fish for years, but Catfish just intrigue me and they're pretty funny too much like any other Cat lol. I figure 3 Catfish is the limit because two of them require some pretty massive housing but if I win the lottery I'll have Goonch and Piraiba too... and a Leopard and Jaguar probably lol. But yeah keeping fish as pets and catching fish, Catfish are my favorite.

I had a red tail, gave him away when he reached 2' and would suck down $5 in feeders a week. He out grew my 100. Fun times man. I remember them fondly. I had a write up in the LA Times and OC Register for COAST Aquarium club (California's Organization of Aquatic Show Tropicals). We were a member of the IBC (international betta congress) and had monthly meetings (I believe they still do) auctions, raffles on donated items, hundreds $ worth monthly, speakers, shows. It was a hoot and a nanny? I served as pres for the first 3 yrs. At one time we were the largest and fastest growing aquarium society in America. Good times.

I was growing weed back then too. I had one of those grows you'll remember forever. 1 plant, in the ground. It's May and it's 2' tall and I hear a copter overhead for like 30 minutes. I panic and top and strip the leaves on the damn thing every few days to try and conceal what it was. Week after week and before long it's a 5' tall round hedge. Still looks like what it is. Must have been 20 or 30 main tops. I've never since topped one like that. It's early Sept and here again I hear the copter circle and again panicked and cut her down.

She was a sativa and really needed another 5-6 weeks. It took me and 2 buds a week of nights straight to trim and manicure that immature plant while keeping a J burning the whole time. Really good times and memories?

Hehehe yeah they don't really seem to get "full" and that belly can stretch pretty easy too. Mine eats 2 to 3 times a week depending on the size, but he's rarely slowed down when eating lol. He gets pissed sometimes, like the bedroom light is on and he's ready to chill out, and slams into the side, or once he splashed my Fiance from across the room with that big ass tail lol. He also recently regurgitated a small piece of fish and before we could get it out he got pissed and did a street fighter spinning slam right on it, and made a snow globe..... yeah lol. Cute as can be though hahahaha! Eventually I'll legit be able to toss legal sized Walleye in there for him lol.

They are ! Surprisingly enough! G sent me one my first one and it's incredible. Basically I just put all my bags into the grove bag and it's amazing how many you can fit in there versus the jars.
Sweet. I’ve got 10-1/4 lbers and 10-2 ouncers in my cart. Figure those would be good to keep the phenos separated while trying. Then move them into the 1/4 pounders for the next batches. Changed that to 12-2 oz bags
