Amended roughly 1000gal of dirt this morning in preparation for clones on Fri.

Still need to put up a support under a couple hoops the snow bent. Will find a better solution later, if possible without full disassembly.

Need to wire up a set of lights tomorrow for keeping the clones in veg and repair the wiring to one of the blackout cover motors.

I see a shovel sticking up in that pile. Are you turning all that by hand.? Good looking greenhouse. Nice pots. Are they 100 gallon?

Yeah, but I layered it with amendments as I dumped each 200-300gal to make it easier. Thanks about the GH. It's been neglected the last couple years so I'm putting it back together a little at a time. We get some pretty ferocious wind with our winter storms and there's screws sheared off all over the place. The pots are 45gal Geopots and I'll be bringing in 6 more 200gal from my old garden for the full season grow.

Okay. You must have arms like the hulk turning all that soil.?? Good stuff . I'll be patently waiting and watching the clones grow in the pots and greenhouse.

If you layer it as the pots are dumped then it's pretty easy to mix. I'm no little dude but I've been disabled for a while now. I'm nowhere near the big mule I was when I worked construction for 20yrs.

I was taught young, when you gotta do somethin don't think about how hard it is, just get it done. All my friends were farm and ranch kids. When we'd hang out it was a normal thing to help each other out with chores like bucking alfalfa or running irrigation lines so we could go party sooner. Most of us were 4H or FFA so we had livestock to take care of and that conditions kids for hard work. Thinkin back, we'd shovel for fun, building underground bunkers for BB-gun wars or tracks for motorX. I don't think any of us knew what lazy was. Honestly, I consider shoveling dirt therapeutic.

I was sick as a dog this morning but it only took a few hours to do 22 pots so I was able to push through it with the help of a 60mg morphine and some aspirin.

Thanks man, I enjoy sharing with and entertaining other growers. Cannabis is such a cool and unique plant.

A pic from the outside shows the severity of the hoop failures. For the time being will build a "T" support out of 2x4 doug fir. Using a jack at the base I'll lift it till the hoops are back in place then bolt it to a foot. After that's all set I'll run some perpendicular crossmembers for a 3 point contact on each hoop. Should be stable enough for the time being and prevent any further damage.

Dang, did a number on it.
Another thing that works well for crossmembers to your center post is metal conduit.
Cut to length, hammer flat the ends and drill holes in the flattened part. It's galvanized against corrosion too. Lol.
Works great as greenhouse bracing. Just screws into the metal with self tapping screws.

...and that's why I like posting my plans. Much better idea, thank you. As soon as I get a bit more cash in I'll jack those sections up and run conduit crossmembers on all the hoops.

I have
And it's relatively inexpensive. ?

I'm setting up a temporary brace in the morning.

We have possible snow coming in tonight but our property is right at the rain-line (2k') so hopefully it stays above 2.5k'. Most of Grass Valley & Nevada City are right in that sweet spot between 2k'-3k' that's usually just below the snow but we get hit hard sometimes. Supposed to get 2'-6' above 4k'. That's some zero movement depth. 4"-12" between 2.5k'-4k' could easily shift down to 1.5k'-2k' in an instant. {{{I'm a little worried}}}

Man I love watching you work bro. Wish there was two shovels sticking out of that pile and I was there helpin out. My back is brutal but I ain’t scared of a little diggin either.

As far as the “don’t worry about how hard it is. you just do what needs doing” I’ve always used a canoe analogy.. when I’m considering acquiring a new friend or business partner i like to take em on a canoe trip.

Here’s how you seperate boys from men when paddling up a current.
So let’s say we are 3/4 of the way up a channel going against the current. We are both completely out of gas, arms burnin.
The boy throws up his hands and says “I’m spent” as we drift backwards.
The man, knowing how we will lose all the progress we just made if he stops paddling, proceeds to keep on f@ckin blastin and we make it the rest of the way.

After a quick heart attack and a smoke at a portage, back to it. He might wake up the next morning with rubber arms, but we made it and now we can’t keep the pickerel off the hooks.

I never trust a man who can’t (won’t) keep paddling.
?
P.s. I did just say man but this applies to the ladies as well. Same same.
Aunt Rom never stopped paddling. She’s a machine.
Thats why I chose her as my “business partner” ?

Wish you were here too. I'm waiting for cold weather and snow storms to completely pass before I get the clones. Could use your expertise with cold weather. I've never transplanted anything early spring that I didn't grow from beans and condition to handle it. Can't risk such an expensive investment with store bought clones. Besides, I'm sure they don't beat the sh*t outta them to make em tough like I do.

That canoe idea is perfect. A man (or woman) can push past fatigue and pain when it matters. I thought the kid might've had that drive considering his background but how whipped he is by his girl totally f^cked that idea off. She was the one distracting him and was trying to be a shot caller in my business by manipulating my cousin. After I payed him up and let him go my cousin came to me wanting the kid to work on her behalf. I could tell the girlfriend was trying to work her and get him back in. I shut that sh*t down with a quickness.

Im glad I got that brace in, we got hit pretty hard by the snow several times. I'll get some more pics up in a few days. Nothing really going on right now to put up any updates. My pics should be better quality this next time. I charged up my Sony a5000 to do legit photos again. Too bad my Pentax is having problems. It's the better camera.

I would, as long as the constant bad weather is the exception not the rule. Bud rot sucks a$$.
