Tester bud from one of the little C-Stars in the 1 Gal pails.
I was a little wary early on, but the smell has evolved into something sweet and lovely and I can't wait to sample this little bit of sugar. It smells a bit like a good White Widow.

Not having the best luck with old seeds lately. The only Mozambique Poison that popped fizzled out. The old stock Cinderella 99s also failed to germinate. Both of these go back to the days when I didn't have a good place for seed storage, so while I'm disappointed, it isn't the biggest surprise.

I have laid down 5 C99 from the newer stock and have my fingers crossed.

Happy stuff: I have 3 Deep Chunks at about a week and a half old and looking strong. I'm still looking for a true couch-lock indica and have hopes that it may be in these genes, either in this IBL form or crossed with Northern Lights or Romulan IBLs.

I moved my drying cab to the basement. It is usually low 60sF down there and I'm able to keep the cab interior at around 60rh/60F which I'm told is a very nice level for drying/curing. The latest BBHP is in there, along with the early finishing CharaStar.

I have a couple amazingly fast growing plants from seeds that came from my outdoor White Widow auto. I know there are a number of other growers in the village and heard that a few were outdoor, so the pollen could have come from anything. They hadn't flowered by day 30 so I put them under 12/12 and both are super tall females. I took a cut of the most vigorous to see what happens.

The big CharaStar is on day 50 in the flower tent and just keeps swelling and swelling. It has a very old-school smell to me, sweet and a bit earthy. Can't wait to see how she finishes.

Cold cure for the win.
My (outer) lung room sits around %70rh and 5 degrees Celsius.

Honestly, plants could hang in there until spring.
The stems will never snap, like that. After a month buds will still gum up a grinder and not burn properly. In order to prepare them for smoking, I will cut a branch off and put it in a paper bag for a couple days (at reasonable room temps), and she is good to go.

That is awesome to hear !

I have yet to nail down a singular description of the smell.

Seems like those long winded ones never really hardened off. Much whispier compared to the one that you had. They die hairy.
I have pushed them past 77 days. Do you have the patience to run her out another month ?

I have time and space, so I guess we'll all find out together. ; ) It looks like she's going to finish from the bottom up.

The other small one that is pictured earlier in the thread is looking quite different from the big girl. Spear points instead of the ever-expanding flowers. Not sure if that's due to restricted root space or the pheno. She also is getting orange hairs low and working upward.

I'm looking through the Vault and as much as I want to grow more of the awesome gear I've received here, I've realized I need to work through the old stuff first.
All the new beans are stored in the dark in a cold-storage room, but there are a lot of the older ones that weren't always so well cared for. The recent M Poison and C99 duds showed that I need to pop them or risk losing them, so it's time to do that.

I have PSBC, JOTI, L13, BeanHo, and Joey Weed among others, as well as a bunch of stuff I made.
Should be a fun winter seeing what I can unleash. :)

Dropped two C99s with tails in the coco yesterday. The other three hadn't cracked after 48 hours so I gave them some help last night. This morning all three look like they are trying hard. ?

After running the one cut for years the idea of exploring the Cindy genes a little more has me excited.

:superhappydance:One of the three Skunk #1's is a male! He's a good one, too.

With one verified female and one likely female, that means there will be a threesome coming up shortly for a batch of IBL seeds to add to the Vault. Probably collect some of the pollen as well and maybe do some F1s.

First time making seeds with forced-air heating, so I hope I can keep stray pollen to a minimum.

---------------------

The other three Cindys popped weird after I cracked them. They all came out of the husk cotyledons first. I dropped them in coco but not especially optimistic.

Here's the third Charastar pheno. She's quite distinct from the other two.

Plugged in any LED's ?
Yeah, I've mostly put the SILs aside for now. Only the orgy tent is still under a SIL fixture. The three 1985 Skunk #1's are just starting to get jiggy in there.

I don't have any Twinkle Tarts, but I have some crosses. The Eso gear I have : Bazooka Blast, Smackerz, Sour Sparkles and Jelly Head.
All the new stuff is on hold for now though. Purely working through old stuff for the next while.

The Deep Chunks have been potted up. I really like the looks of these not quite 3 week old plants and am hoping for a strong male.

There are also 3 strong young Cindy sprouts and one still struggling. I REALLY hope there is a good male here as well.

Not yet certain, but eyeing either Beanho's Black Widow or Joey Weed's White Widow for the next pack to be cracked.
