The Romulan is kickin some nice crowns ??. Did you top it much if any ?
Thank you, kind sir.

That one spent most of its existence as a bonsai mom, so it's been snipped and clipped a bunch of times, which is why it is so out of control. Per my records, it was 383 days old before it was flipped to flower, with most of that time in a container that was only a couple liters in volume.
The breeder recommends not topping at all, and it is clear why. :)

Yes indeed very nice.
Thanks, Kid. Nice to see you back.

You've got me thinking about the Polar Beary again. It's my Pineapple Princess C99 x Blueberry. I made hundreds of seeds and need to grow out some more. I love the ones I grew previously, but can only keep so many moms, so flowered them out without cuts.

So many genes, so little time and space. Not the worst problem to have, I guess. ;)

Went one generation up from Polar Beary and laid down a few of the Blueberry seeds I made a year or two ago. This will be a germ test. If I do get some sprouts, I'm going to try to baby them a little. I'll actually give them a lower ppm feed rather than treating them like "normal" cannabis.

I'm curious to see how I do after taking a break from this challenging strain. I've grown some beauties, but a lot of twisted freaks as well.

Flood to drain in those 5 gal buckets?

It's passive hydro, often called hempy. I prefer to call them PHuckets(that's how they are listed in my spreadsheet), since Hempy was kind of a wingnut and this style has existed for hundreds of years. :)

Now that I hang out here, PHuckets is even better.

They are only 2 gallon pails. That was one thing Hempy got right, if you are feeding on time, anything bigger is unnecessary. (the one on the rear left is on a booster seat until it stretches a bit)

4 of 4 popped. Three grew tails and one looks like it may fizzle out, but it may hold on.

I'm excited to take another go at old-school Blueberry again. She has the magic, but she can be finicky and high-maintenance, kinda like a top-end racehorse.

Was looking at my stash and realized it isn't growing. For a while, I had to find excuses to give away lots of top end weed but now, even though I'm harvesting the same number of plants and the quality is solid, the average yield is down significantly and so is my abilty to be generous. :(

Part of it is the colder grow area, but a lot is just complacency. I tried substituting knowledge for work and that just doesn't cut it.

I've been getting back into the schedule of keeping the PHuckets properly topped up to get the near-hydroponic growth rates and trying to stay on top of defoliation, which was proven vital in my grow style. I believe I should be able to return to my previous yields, or nearly, in spite of the temperatures if I get off my lazy ass a little more often.

Scenes from my mini flower tent, where I experiment and sample:

Here's the plant the flower I just posted in @Jewels ' thread came from.
Looks like she's gonna stack nicely. :)

Here's a Kushberry, one of the last of an old pack. I can see the BB genes in her and it has me even more excited about the pure BBs that are currently just poking out of the coco.

That is 100% my biggest problem...complacency and status quo...I just have not had the time lately to get everything organized and pull one off completely as I used to.
This run is going pretty smooth...for day like 17... ?....it could start hailing balls of fire any day now though...the biggest part of my problem is preparation and availability...the last few grows were thrown together...wasn't ready, had too many...supplies were thin blah blah....my next run of the clones of the BubbleHeads, STAT Line, and SherBikerBubble....I have my soil ready, my bags ready, new 1000w hortilux bulb, new filters, new mylar, new fans, it should be good to go...but I know what you mean when you say...I go through all the motions but haven't given them any love and the yeilder suffer greatly!

I grow perpetual, so there isn't even any planning involved, other than deciding what to grow next and timing things to keep the flower tent full. I just got complacent. As an industrial tradesman, I know how dangerous and dumb that is, but I let it happen anyway. :(

Lately I've gotten back into a rhythm of spending a half hour or so every other morning with the plants and I'm already seeing a positive response. I just have to write the routine in stone and not vary. It's not like it's difficult or anything. I've done a lot harder work for a lot less return. :)

I think you have a winning strategy, in your pruning.
Thanks, brother. : )

Selective defoliation is a big part of my growing style. It has a huge effect on the eventual structure of my plants. I often tie down branches to assist the process, but for some plants just defoliating alone can create a nice even canopy, or at least make the next level below the tops a bit better.

You can see on BST 3 further up the page that she's got quite a few tops as well.
