In Bloom
Welcome! You have come to the right place. I love those old genetics! Dreams of the past....Hi from Canada , ive been lurking on a few 420 sites on the web and with the knowledge and sense of humour of the members here I've found my new home . Now , about me ive been growing off and on since the early 80's but slowed my smoking down to rarely (a joint a month) but i still have the passion to grow and my neighbors like it as well . I'll try and start a grow journal this year with the various seeds from the eighties (if i can get them to pop ) and seeds ive ordered and trying to order ie: various landraces BTW isnt that great that one can order sees online ? didnt see that one coming back in the day lol . Talk with y'all later
As for popping those older seeds, I have heard using sterile agar in a petri dish or test tube, like used to make clones from a small amount of plant material, can be helpful. Practice on seeds you don't treasure first. I have also heard gently removing the hard outer seed coat before placing the embryo on the sterile medium might help.
Anyone researching these techniques?
(I really should try this technique myself....)
And it is awesomely wonderful to be able to order seeds online.
I think I still have the seed catalog I got from a friend, back in the 80's, from Canada, that lists Northern Lights. I was never brave enough to order seeds.....
