Just like to grow

Jim Dandy

In Bloom
Hi from Canada , ive been lurking on a few 420 sites on the web and with the knowledge and sense of humour of the members here I've found my new home . Now , about me ive been growing off and on since the early 80's but slowed my smoking down to rarely (a joint a month) but i still have the passion to grow and my neighbors like it as well ;) . I'll try and start a grow journal this year with the various seeds from the eighties (if i can get them to pop ) and seeds ive ordered and trying to order ie: various landraces BTW isnt that great that one can order sees online ? didnt see that one coming back in the day lol . Talk with y'all later
Welcome! You have come to the right place. I love those old genetics! Dreams of the past....

As for popping those older seeds, I have heard using sterile agar in a petri dish or test tube, like used to make clones from a small amount of plant material, can be helpful. Practice on seeds you don't treasure first. I have also heard gently removing the hard outer seed coat before placing the embryo on the sterile medium might help.
Anyone researching these techniques?
(I really should try this technique myself....)

And it is awesomely wonderful to be able to order seeds online.
I think I still have the seed catalog I got from a friend, back in the 80's, from Canada, that lists Northern Lights. I was never brave enough to order seeds.....

Hi Red and the rest of the hunters on here Ty for the welcome. Jim Dandy ive tried seaweed xtract 0-0-17 on a few as a test and had one out of ten pop , so now im going to try some from the three canisters using sand paper on them and 0-0-17 again ( i had 7 canisters but have only found three so far along with my seed bank book from 85 /86 ).
As for ordering online ,could be bad and soon as i figure out how to upload photos ill show why :D
