If they still had Pioneer Chicken that would be my vote, but it’s about what’s available now. I’ve never had Raising Canes but wtf those double drive thru lanes always packed at whatever time even like 2am ??‍♂️

For those of you that don’t know, Krispy Krunchy Chicken is a chain that originated in Louisiana but they have chosen to use the gas station model to branch out. Don’t let that turn you off. They’re bomb AF and use actual unprocessed tenders.

Let the ? ? ? wars begin ?

I actually had their Chicken for the very first time last summer; mainly because every time I went there I got the same thing lol, Cajun Catfish and Red Beans and Rice. But yeah, Popeye's for the win!

Voted Raising Cane because my slightly autistic nephew is absolutely bonkers about the place.... and he definitely knows his fast food!

Obviously anyone that says Popeyes is the best is not from the south and should definitely try real fried chicken. KFC hasn't been good in a decade.
Bojangles crushes Popeyes and it's not even an option.

I had to go with Popeyes. Even before the chicken sandwich they were my favorite, mainly because they offer spicy fried chicken so in comparison everyone else seems bland to me. And the fish sandwich is bomb too. But man, Krispy Krunchy has a few things that make them a close second... Chicken Cracklins are the shit lol.

Also, my son insisted on trying KFC the other day (he'd never had it cause ... Popeyes) and I have to say, their mac n cheese was kinda awesome, in like, a horrifically processed but totally addictive kind of way.

Chik-Fil-A can suck it. I'll die on this hill. I've had their food probably twice ever and have no idea what the hype is about. Their sauce is just fry sauce.

Honestly, I may have a fast food chicken problem. It's definitely a good think the Popeyes near me is inconvenient to get too.

I chose Raising canes. 4 piece substitute slaw for Xtra garlic bread ? others I like not listed and maybe not national.
Guthrie's which is kinda like Raising Canes.
Richie's , which has bomb spicy chicken and potato wedges.

Can't throw a rock in Middle Georgia without hitting a fried chicken place with somebody's Mammaw or Aunt Nannybelle (my wife has an Aunt Nannybelle) slingin' the best chicken you can imagine. Haven't eaten at a chain chicken joint since I washed up here 14 years ago. From the list, I vote Popeye's.

I've never actually seen one. We have Church's Chicken in some areas too but I've never had it.... Popeyes is in the same area.

When I say Popeyes is the best I certainly am speaking of fast food joints only, and honestly even then I'd actually rather eat from one of the bidegas near me, or even Pollo Centro which is a local chain... Dominicans make some killer fried chicken haha. And unfortunately I've never even seen a bojangles, but it's on the hit list

As for homemade chicken, that's just a whole nother animal. I'm a damn Yankee and my skillet fried chicken will knock the socks off any of these fools...but it's like, a lot of work man. And there's all that oil and my family always gets mad when they reach for an oil jug and I'm like "not that one, that's the chicken grease!!", which like, come on, the used grease is way darker, not my fault if their brownies taste fried chickeny cause they can't use their eyes...

I'm gonna need some fried chicken this week is where I'm going with this. Wish I had a Maw Maw.
