Just got some gender testing kits from Leaf Works. They have a great 50% off special running through the end of the year if use promo code EmCup2022. Im really looking forward to this service as it will save me a ton of time and money not having to transplant the unwanted males past the half gallon pot I use. I can identify them early in their seedling pots, transplant them into the half gallons, throw them in the "dude's only" tent and make my selections well before my beautiful girls are ready for flower. I have some plants that are 1.5 weeks from being popped and can already send in the baby leaves for the test.

Does anyone have any experience with this company? I've called their customer service and they were really cool and supportive with all of my questions. I'll keep this thread updated with my own experience.

Sent the tests out last Thursday and just got results back. Pretty impressive turn around considering the time of year. All I clipped was both little round baby leaves of each plant for testing. Im 3 weeks from seed touching soil and I know the gender. If i had already had the tests, I could've sent them in a week earlier too. This is pretty cool! I think I'll use this service whenever I grow regs.

They're all going into 1 gallon pots tomorrow. Im also curious if they're service proves true. So the identified males will be going into the Male tent next week to fight it out until one shines above the rest. Im going to use him on my favorite female. I'll update again when the plants are showing gender.

I like you're thinking there. Make sure their tests are 100% accurate before culling.

Well it turns out I didn't have enough space to keep all 5 males so I just chose the best lookin one. He'll be going into the flower tent next week

Pop them outside then. You'll see pretty quick. Enjoying the show but my curiosity wouldn't let me throw them out till they showed themselves to make sure of how accurate the tests are. Next grow or season you will have an indication if they are reliable or hit miss. You'd hate to throw out and cull a female that could be your best pheno you've had on a test that may prove unreliable. Nothing ventured is nothing gained.

Yeah it was not a good feeling tossing them....I am very curious too. It's below 32° here so they'd die pretty quick outside. I have more tests though and more seeds to start in the coming weeks. Sorry to ruin the fun!
