Lemons and limes. Sprite chucking project.

What’s up pheno hunters. I’ve been away for a while. Life got crazy, had a death in the family and took some time off from the basment projects for a while.

But I’m back and getting geared up for a breeding project this year. I’m new to this so please critique and comment if anyone sees any giant F ups.

So my premonition is citrus is coming back heavy. I’ve been hoarding these packs for a while with the goal of making some killer citrus crosses.

My breeding experience level is that of amateur. A few open pollinations. I’ve always been into production and hunting others work. Exciting to get my feet wet here.

The the veg space is cleaned and prepped.

My plan was to drop all 20 lime vine and 6 lemon tree. I already have a cut of lemon tree which is phenomenal.

I have a 4x8 tent for hunting girls.

Then I have my veg space plus 5x5 tent and a 5x6 sealed room. I plant on useing these two spaces pollen chucking.

Tips, advice, holy shit you’re fuxking up comments welcome please!!

I’ll be posting basically every step on this journal to track my progress. Happy to be back here with the pheno hunter community!

I personally would focus soley on the Lime Vine if you already have a killer cut of lemon tree. Cloning is probably the biggest trip up for a beginning chuck. Keeping and refreshing clones while you grow, flower, sample, and select can be daunting. The simpler you keep it the better. You can always save pollen to use as you hunt the other pack. It might take a little longer but the single strain focus gives less confusion. Also don't be afraid to cull plants that don't meet your standards. Just my .02

Thanks for the reply. You’re probably right. I’m being overly ambitious. I have a habit of biting off more than I can chew so maybe I’ll just keep the lemon on deck for now and throw something at the keeper I have already.

I am chucking in a 2x2 and 2x3, clones take up space big time. Cuts of everything. Holding 1, while another roots, rinse, repeat. If you have a seperate area to keep 20 small mothers you can only clone once but small spaces are challenging.
I should have plenty of clones space. If I have to set up a rack with tubes I will. I’m always cloning for work so that part is not to daunting. I was going to actually veg seedlings, take 3 clones of each. Then flower one each of the female clones with like a week veg time. And just dump the actual seedlings in the compost. That way I can flower 10 girls in a smaller space and smaller pots.

Pop em All , cull the weak . U never know what may show itself to you. But that's great that you have a killer cut to begin with. You are ahead of the game ?

Love this idea! Huge fan of lemon/lime and keep hearing about the limes healing powers as well. And anything mean gene drops is bomb , and his lime stuff is unreal so you’re off to an epic start with that and the lemon tree! Excited to see what shows up! And welcome back fam

Saw this pop up, and had to see what's going on in here, sounds like a pretty awesome plan imho.
How's the plan going so far? Curious where things went?
