Bone meal or something else in the soil mix might be attracting coons or critters. Sprinkling some cayenne might help. It helped me with squirrels and chipmunks.I've given up on this one, been dug up multiple times (coons), and they still dig around it but havnt up rooted yet again. I quit filling in where they dig seems to keep them from digging the whole area up. View attachment 14496
Back in the day, we put a little cayenne pepper in our luggage before boarding a plane.....with a little weed! Dogs didn't care too much for than stuff up their sniffers. We were pretty oblivious to what could happen back then, but today one would be nuts to bring anything on a plane. (I'd sure munch out on some edibles before getting on board though....? )Bone meal or something else in the soil mix might be attracting coons or critters. Sprinkling some cayenne might help. Plants love blood meal and bone meal, so do coons, dogs and other critters.I used blood meal, and was going to do peppers but after it got ripped out 2nd time I thought it was a goner. Still going but stunted as fuck.

FWIW, I'm in raised beds and I try to amend my soil about a month or so before the plants go in.

I just noticed some spider mite eggs on my plants...so much for neem oil working lol I thought it was the neem oil doing the damage. I will have to try something else. Mabe plant therapy.Slugs mostly from what I can tell. But honestly it may be a few things. My garden is getting hammered too. Between the bugs and the damn chipmunks it's been a tough start to the season. I set some beer traps for the slugs earlier.
Looks like a fire fly. I can remember the area that i last worked in ( fishing guide) when you started to see them show up in the area it was Cobia (ling) time. Same with a lot of other things as well but mostly pacific plant blooms that would mesh the arrival of certain species of fish. Amazing just how accurate the timing was sometimes. I am posting a picture of my pet cobia . Just kidding sometimes i would tie them off to the boat encase they desired to release it later for a possible larger one. Boy i really got off subject with this post (sorry). Here's my battered Sour Diesel.
