I have a friend who is a huge glass fan. He has been reading all he can about glass-blowing, wants to do it himself, follows certain creators whose work he enjoys. The guy even brought a 20" high bong and a jug of distilled water along while we hiked and fished in some rough terrain last year. I also have a high end glass place near me that has numerous pieces in the 4 figure range, so I appreciate that there is a market for this stuff and I absolutely admire the skill and artistry that goes into them.

That said, the practical and cheap side of me cannot reconcile the idea of combining fragile, expensive and often unwieldy glass pieces with high grade weed and very stoned people. My bongs are all practical and replaceable.

It arrived a day early, so I've had a chance to try it out. I'm really happy, though I have tweaked a few settings. ;)

The included whip is slightly smaller in diameter than the ones I have, so I changed out the tubing for the larger stuff, using the included fittings. This increased my draw capacity.

Even with better draw, it was tough to clear the bowl, given its large size(especially since I prefer to go dry). I'd seen others mention this online, so I already had a solution in mind. I picked up 5 x 50gr of glass beads to increase disruption and reduce capacity. An added bonus is increased stability. It works great and looks very cool when in use, but I'm going to grab more beads, maybe another 200 grams, to completely cover the perc.

super interesting to know about the glass bead addition. I've never thought of that, and that could work wonders in some of those smaller/cheaper percless water pipes. The added weight is also a huge bonus, as we all know how tippable glass can be :headwall:

I'm still happy, though I haven't made it back to the bead store yet to top it up. As a device to smooth out hits, it is fantastic.

The only minor issue is cleaning. I wouldn't do this if I was smoking as it would be a sticky, stinky mess. Since I only vape through it, I run hot water through until the glass is heated up, and then a bit of 99% iso and a bit of fresh hot water swirled for a minute and she's good as new. Tip: a fork over the drain hole allows the water out while keeping the beads in.

I'm glad you are back, Dino.
I get that there were real life hassles and frustrations about your growing and breeding, but you make this a better place whether you are breeding or growing or not.
thanks man I appreciate it. I was just trying to do too much at once, burnt myself out. oh well, new mindset, new reset, its all good. just getting back to my roots. This whole next couple of rounds of seeds are dedicated to the homies who have made and given me seeds. Something inside me has shifted, and I find the most important plants to grow are the ones that people who are in my life have created. To be able to grow them out, and share my findings, or continue the lineage or use in projects. Haha, I still have a ton of those to get through.
