Lockedin's 4x8 Fiasco

Lockedin

In Bloom
Finally got my 4x8 set up again!
This round I'm growing:
1. Herijuana - I tried my hand at making seeds and succeed (mostly). I have a lot of smalls, duds & mutants - but I also have viable seeds! Similar to the parent seeds, I'm finding 2 phenos:
-a. Loves nutes - more is better! I was feeding GH trio at full strength last grow and they loved it. Frost-show plants with a loud, hashy, latex aroma.
-b. Hates nutes - ffof & water seems fine - ok, cheap date! Trichomes and aroma are both hidden until the last days of flower, then a sweeter version of the above.
Currently in grow bags; will finish in 5g. fabric.
They're a little stretchy, so I raised them up on soil bags & lowered the lights about 8". Other than that they look good so far.

2. Mazar/Black Triangle X Kashmir - given to me by a friend untested. I'm going to run my Flowering lights at 11.5/12.5 as I do with Strawberry Kush hoping to mitigate herm tendencies.
Currently in final 5g fabric.

Inside the box:
(2) GrowDaddy 240w rack lights & a mixed bag of Viparspectra lights - total appx. 1,200w. (upgrades soon)
AC Infinity T6 on setting 6 - no cf yet.
(1) 6" & (2) 4" passive intakes
Bag Soils - FFOF & Recipe 420
Nutes:
FF All Purpose 6-5-4 - to be applied weed 3 or 4; depending on what the plants say.
Japanese Maple 4-3-4 ------ which is what happens when you go to the garden shop stoned. I might use it though, 4-3-4 and ornamental tree seem kinda right....
Dr Earth Flower Girl 4-9-3 (to come...) - to be applied one week after flip and at the end of stretch.

Here's some baby pics:

04/05
Small update.

Lights are running 18/6
17 of 20 seeds are now seedlings and have been up-potted to their final 5g fabric pots.
(9) A. Kashmir
(8) Herijuana

One of my Herijuana has some weird leaves - looks like a severe CalMag issue on her first true leaves, but none of the rest have this... I'm just going to observe and see if she grows out of it.

I should probably mention that these are regular, non-feminized seeds, so I'm going to lose a few when they reveal sex.

Here's a few baby pics:

Pictures to come...

Herijuana definitely needs Mag - lower leaves are going yellow; a couple plants even have crunchy leaves.
Lights are appx. 20" from canopy (240w). I lowered them till all plants stopped stretching.

Otherwise, everything is shaping up nicely - tallest is about 8" (Kashmir) - shortest is about 4" (Heri).

Black Triangle x Kashmir is growing nicely.
Lights are about 24" above canopy for these.

Considering top-dressing all pots with FF All Purpose (6-4-5 IIRC) and adding Epsom salts for the Herijuana.

Aside from the Calmag deficiency, I'm pretty happy with how this grow is vegging.

Baby pics!

Probably topping / pruning this weekend.

Heri is the two rows up front - you can see the Mag deficiency in the lower left plant.
Kashmir x triangle are the 3 rows in the back

And the Kashmir, which is a little more squat.

30 days today.
I need to hang another light and add more circulation fans.

Probably flip to flower this weekend.

Then I'll get the 2x4 set up and start some Strawberry Kush - starting to go perpetual.

No pics, just a calendar update. Maybe tonight...

Top dressed with Fox Farms all purpose
Began adding molasses @ 1TBS / gallon

Flipped lights to 11.5 / 12.5
On April 30

Time to watch for males
Herijuana seems to reveal sex a week or two into flower.
Kashmir is looking good - shorter than Herijuana.

Quick pic from this morning.

The strains are easy to tell apart:
Herijuana is taller & not as densely foliated.
Kashmir x Black Triangle is short and DENSE; it has large, double toothed leaves that need pruning often as they completely obscure pre-flowers from receiving light.

Both strains had some deficiencies early on, but feeding seems to have addressed that.

Picture morning.

VERY easy to tell the strains apart now - all of these pics were taken before pruning leaves.

Herijuana - I pruned about 8 leaves total. They're pretty lanky & have a lot of node-spacing.
Kashmir - I pruned about a dozen leaves from each plant. DENSE little Christmas Trees!

I still have some legacy burple lights - hopefully replacing them soon.

Funny note about my garden this round:

LESS IS MORE - these look like they'll be my best grow yet - because I don't have time to mess with em!
Work has had me BUSY, so I haven't done much maintenance, and almost no training - given these results, I probably won't do much training in the future either!

I top-dressed with 1 cup each Fox Farms All Purpose 6-5-4 (IIRC) at week 3.5

As they reached about 24-30" tall, I topped them* - except for one of the Kashmir...forgot to top that one.
*Trying my hand at fimming on a few of them - I think I like it - we'll know more in a few weeks.

Yesterday was the second time I've pruned them (other than occasional removal of leaves shading flowers):
Kashmir - I removed about a dozen LARGE fan leaves from each plant plus leaves that were shading budsites - plus a few more for airflow. Then removed 4 low branches (2 sets) that weren't getting light and won't produce much --- STILL very dense foliage!
- They started throwing pistils a few days after Heri - only one per node at first, now looking more "anemone" like.
Herijuana - Removed about a dozen leaves TOTAL - mostly down low to help with watering / maintenance. Nodes are widely spaced.
- Heri is a beast! Already starting to frost after 2.5 weeks. Really excited to see what these look like in another 6 weeks or so!

Planning to feed them again soon - I need to go pick up some Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4.

I'll continue pruning shade leaves, but overall I figure leaves are there to support the plants; even though they can spare some - I'm trying to keep the majority of them intact.
