Marketing Emails- Review Requests

Does it drive anyone else crazy to buy something online and then be hounded to provide a review? I find it obnoxious and an abuse of trust. I provided my contact information for the purpose of a single transaction and for no other purpose. These requests also assume my time is worthless.

I've decided to try and fight back. I'm probably tilting at windmills, but if they can fuck with me, I can fuck with them.

I sent my first invoice this morning to a company for writing an online review. I treated their email as a request for services and told them my rate and minimum number of hours I charge and that I require payment in advance. I added a few more details and said I would follow up if I didn't hear back. I will follow up until they are sick to death of me.

This will be an evolving thing as I hope to end up with a fairly standard boilerplate email invoice, with only the company info to be plugged in, as the initial response. How the company responds to me from there will determine how much fun I get to have with individual cases. :devilish:

I want to make these people hate their company policy of harassing customers. If it doesn't help lead to policy change, at least I get to give back some of the frustration they cause.

As a related aside, for anyone who wants to get past the online bullshit-maze and contact a person, this site is a great source of phone numbers and emails for most companies:

Nobody wants to write me back. :(

I sent a follow up this week of my original invoice to a company that wants me to review a vaporizer(not the purchase that inspired the original post, I let them off the hook). I'll wait till Monday for a response before a second follow up. I just want to provoke some sort of response, any response, in order to open a dialogue on why their behaviour is unacceptable.

I don't buy much stuff online, so I don't get many opportunities to do this. I honestly started the thread hoping to inspire someone else to join the cause of harassing the harassers. It's kind of like the lyrics in Alice's Restaurant:

You know, if
one person, just one person does it they may think he's really sick...

And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people...

And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day, I said
fifty people a day walking in singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and
walking out. And friends they may thinks it's a movement.

And that's what it is, the Alice's Restaurant Anti-Massacre Movement, and
all you got to do to join is sing it the next time it comes around on the
guitar.

;)
