Very well said @Amos Otis I fell the same and could not have said it better.
Like you I have been unable to think or speak coherently for the last couple months. Weed just makes me sad so I have picked up a shot or 2 at night to calm me down........I quit drinking 10 years ago and I'll be doing it again real soon.

Now for the bad news.
I drove 4 hours last night to pick up the little guy and he wasn't a little guy anymore....16 weeks! Needless to say I came home with out him.
So I had a backup plan as usual and have another litter to examine and choose from.....I hate CL for this very reason.I feel sorry for the lady that had the little guy she is sitting on the entire litter still.......price you pay for wanting too much for your pups.
View attachment 147438 These are just the age I need to let my older dog get used to the pup before the shenanigans begin....so looking forward to having another little one around. I really like blues but the reds in this litter have me taking another look at them.
I want a red too ? we are very close to pulling the trigger.

Good luck on your search bro...have you found one yet?
We find them every night lol. It's just kind of scary and it's funny. There's always one of us that is ready and the other one that's like maybe we should wait. We've just been wanting to get one for probably the last 6 months. Henry needs a companion and someone to help him exercise. I take him for walks and throw the ball but he needs exercise the more the happier he is

We are the same...we don't fight or nothing like that but we both have been looking since August.
Christmas seems to have brought many litters to choose from. When mine were both young I was very unhealthy...had some heart trouble but enough of that...I walked my dogs some 6-7 miles a day for like 10-11 years...lost 100 pounds and felt healthy for the first time in since I was disabled...I will do the same with the new one.Nothing brings them closer to you than a long walk in the woods.
What do people ask for them there? Here they are like little gold nuggets to some people.

So we were looking between like 500 and 1,000. Henry came from California and she actually flew over with him in the crate as a carry-on. It was great and it was only like 200 bucks for the option to do that. So I was like hell yes. This dog has brought so much joy and meaning to our lives me especially. Just a f****** pure joy.

Pretty much the same here unless you are after papers then the price climbs to 1800 on some.
I am paying 500 for this next one......I really don't need the hype of papers.
California....go figure. Thats some serious travel for a puppy glad you found a winner without seeing him first.

Uncovering the cattle dog's hidden past

Yet Hall found a rich source of verifiable detail from 91-year-old historian Bert Howard, whose late wife Beryl was a descendant of the Hall family.

Years ago, while researching her family's history, Mr Howard began piecing together the story of the mysterious breed.

His detailed research in England confirmed Hall had imported drover's curs from Northumbria and that they were a bob-tailed type with a blue coat.

"He started his program in 1825 and it was 1832 when he was quite satisfied with the cross he achieved," he said.

"We don't know how many back crosses he did."

The mating of this dog with a dingo meant that pups could be either red or blue in colour, a trait that endures to this day.

Some had the bob tail of the cur, while others inherited the brush tail of the dingo.

I can't find any information that puts stafordshire terrior in the breed do you have something I do not?

Yeah I'm going to have to do a quick look. I'm at work but. I know Dalmatians in there too. Along w staffys. And yeah I've seen that and we ended up finding this place. I'm glad we did. The father has papers the mom doesn't. But it was cool like they sent us pictures and they got a really cool website. We thought about going there again but they're like 2 years out. It's crazy

Dalmations have been debunked...not in there according to AKC.
Good to know , Always wondered where they got those spots from. So over the last few years I've heard Australian Shepherd and staffy. But I mean that's just what I've read so who the f*** knows lol. You can find anything if you look hard enough . I would however like to know it's true lineage

So true about finding anything you want to believe...it's all there on the internet...lol
I was told to believe nothing you read and only half of what you see on the internet.
I have now entered the world of smoke and mirrors....some folks believe there are many different breeds responsible for them.....Ive read something similar to what you have seen if not the very article...I am not convinced however I do believe over the years that most breeds have intermingled with cattle dogs.....could be just a marker left from an accidental breeding and passed on over the years....like you Who the fk knows.

The markings are pretty unique and consistent luckily . You know at the end of the day I I just hope he stays healthy. That's my biggest concern. it's the best goddamn friend I've ever had and probably ever will have. I swear he's the only reason I didn't lose my mind during covid.

I heard that ..health is a must. The dang vet is just like going to the emergency room for the most part.
Unconditionally........the best thing about dogs.
You can have a shitty day and be off kilter a bit and the dog is virtually unaffected ......made to make you smile.
Blows me away how they are born white and change to red or blue........I found some white ones a week or so ago they are pretty cool looking but not what I am looking for.

Indeed and a small streamer this morning.
Yes he has a great teacher the only problem is her age but for now she is excited to have a buddy!
Poor cat is having issues tho........she better find some high ground for a bit.
I'm interested to see how they are about food. Henry's not aggressive but I have a feeling he will be competitive w another mouth . I'm sure that cat will teach him a lesson of his own too . Lol although cattle dogs are pretty goddamn fearless when it comes to that. I think Henry's been sprayed by a skunk three times. Now he will not learn his lesson. If it's in the yard it's going to get f****** chased. I'm just praying he doesn't get sprayed again
